“Pretty for a quick stop”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is a quaint town with some stunning buildings in the old tradtional German style. A good selection of cafes and restaurants for a coffee or meal for and hour, then a stroll in the old town for another hour. If driving the Mosel, a good place to stretch the legs.

“A Favorite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

While living in Germany I was actually only 15 minutes away from Bernkastel-Kues. It's a small town on the Mosel River, actually two towns. This is in the heart of Mosel Wine Country and these two towns as well as a lot of others along the river have a wine festival every year and it's something everyone should try to attend. These are family owned and you sample every wine they have without obligation to buy. You will find it very difficult if not impossible to walk away without buying a bottle of some very good German Wine.

“Any time of the year”

Make the drive from Cochem to Bernkastel-Kues if you have the chance. Fantastic vineyard views, wine to sample, and welcoming folks - not your normal touristy areas, but very nice.

“Little known gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Driving along the Mosel river one encounters this little known gem. Bernkastel-kues is a picturesque town on the banks of the Mosel river and we were pleasantly surprised with it's most beautiful architecture. The entire town is a locked timezone of bygone days. Each and every building is a unique masterpiece.Parking is not a problem as there are paying parkades situated at easily accessible sights and within walking distance from the heart of the town.
I can recommend this as a destination for anyone wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the large cities. We made this destination our first call on a outdrive from Frankfurt which also included Cochem, also on the banks of the Mosel, which in itself is also a very picturesque town.

Highly recommended.

“So much wine so little time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Wow what a beautiful scenic area to drive and stop along the way for a glass or two of wine in one of the many picturesque towns. Grapevine after grapevine, miles & miles of them, starting at mountain tops coming down to street level using every bit of available space. Incredible displays of flowers everywhere, cute squares with shops and flower lined restaurant terraces. Take a seat at a bistro and sit back and enjoy the wine, the food, the views, and the people watching.
