“Quirky, Tour Party Centred, but a great location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

It’s quite difficult to give an opinion on this hotel. Although my first impressions weren’t good as I walked past a building site to the hotel, and I had a few problems during check-in, the bottom line is that the hotel is in a great situation and can offer bargain priced rooms overlooking the river Rhine as it flows through one of the most attractive stretches.

The establishment is both a hotel and guest house combined, and appears to specialise in tour groups. As a result the hotel staff seemed quite vague about how long it might take to get to the train station (it’s just over 0.5km), and the best route. The arrival of a big tour group around 9pm meant it took quite a while for the hotel to settle down for the night, but the noise problem was offset by the spectacular location. Wi-fi only seemed to work in certain parts, but the breakfast included a wide range of items, although perhaps not of premium quality.

Lighting in the room was poor – but this isn’t uncommon, and be prepared to carry bags up flights of steps both to check in and then to get to your room.

At the Hotel Rheinlust, you'll find good service, an awesome breakfast, comfy beds and an idyllic location. Located directly on the Rhine, the views are great while offering the perfect opportunity for a nightly stroll. We definitely enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was amazing, but judging by the menu, this is their best meal of the day. I'd definitely venture out into down (Severus Straub was our favorite meal in germany!) for dinner and some beers.

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a Rhine view.

The service was a little lacking. The location is good. Rooms are simple but the bathroom is nicer/newer/bigger than most.

We read the reviews & it sounded good...sadly not. The room we were in was in the "guest house" so was separate to the hotel. Our triple room was big with the essentials but had no homey touches. The staff at the check in, the bar & at breakfast were unfriendly. The breakfast was poor and the room so dark in places that we felt we needed a candle! The overall impression was that it was a bus tour hotel, that was stuck in the 70's and didn't care. The parking for cars was very limited. A huge disappointment, the only positive thing I can say is that it was clean & not uncomfortable!

Stayed here for 2 nights during a March vacation with my college children. Hotel was in a nice location along the Rhine with easy access to the many other quaint cities along the river and ability to visit some of the castles. Hotel stated they had wireless internet yet my children were not able to connect to their wireless mobile devices at all in our rooms. There is a computer in the lobby with internet access. Our rooms were overlooking the river and had nice balconies with a table and chairs to sit and enjoy the view. You can walk within a minute to the main shopping square in Boppard and the city has many nice restaurants and cafes. Breakfast was a wonderful buffet each morning. This hotel makes for a nice stop while in Germany traveling along the Rhine River.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the Rhine will probably be loud during the night if the sliding door was opened as...

We visited this hotel with our two boys, aged 11 and 13. The hotel kindly put us in twin rooms next to each other so the boys could have their own room and we could have some privacy, but all they had to do was shout if they had a problem.

We only stayed for a couple of days visiting xmas markets on a B and B basis. The breakfast was great and the area was beautiful We would stay at this hotel again. Rudesheim is a graet place to visit for the xmas market.
