“Fabulous Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

The town of Boppard is not easily accessible and this may put some people off. However this is a fabulous hotel; stylish, comfortable and the staff are welcoming and efficient.

Spa facilities are very good and if you are into golf, which I am not, it must be paradise. The rooms are spacious and clean. The restaurant is very good and beautifully presented. There is a feeling of space throughout the hotel, with many peaceful areas in which to escape.

The hotel provides a selection of good value breaks.

Nice Hotel just miles away from anywhere and when you are there you are there for the night. Reception staff pleasant and allowed us to park the motorcycles in the Courtyard which was appreciated. Rooms basic, but perfectly adequate with a mini bar if that is your thing The folding shower screen unforyunately allowed water to cover the bathroom floor although some rooms had curtains and this didnt happen . Had a meal in the restuarant the first night. German only menu , quite expensive and small portions and staff a litle alloof. If you are hungry go to the Pavillion bar for 1/3 price but they are bar meals, which might not be to everyones taste. Breakfasts very good , a combintion of buffet and table service.

We visited this restaurant with friends. The restaurant had been recommended. It is associated with a hotel with a pretty gravel yard, a bit "castly".
The restaurant itself looks posh inside with white table cloths. The view from the restaurant overlooking the Rhein was fantastic.
The restaurant also had a buffet with the standars metal boxes where the food is kept hot- it didnt look that appealing. Many people seem to choose it. It seemed at odds with a posh restaurant though.
The menu had a number of German dishes with a meditarrean spin on it, for example turbot with chorizo. The starter was really nice: fennel, goose pate and shrimps. The green tea at the end was surprisingly good being a premium bag and not just a standard teabag as is often the case. The atmosphere was a mix of business people (staying at the hotel), couples, birthday parties, seniors. There is a nice balcony too where people can eat whilst enjoyingthe view. The service was slow, even the first drink took ages. However we did visit on a Friday evening.

We were travelling with 2 small children and were very pleased to get 2 connected rooms. The biggest of the rooms had a living room area where we could sit and talk freely after the children were in bed. Personnel were very friendly - especially towards the children and had a good understanding of how they could ease the dinner with tired children.
The rooms we stayed in were big with big balcony's. In advance we had read reviews claiming that the interior were old and worn out but could not recognize this description.
The hotel is charming in a unique way with the personal decoration of the corridors. The view from the restaurant is very beautiful.
We can truely recommend this hotel to others.
