“Good business hotel, great breakfast...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

I stay here regularly and it's clean, there's always a good welcome and the breakfast buffet is absolutely fantastic. I've booked premier rooms, standard rooms and superior rooms here through different websites but they all seem to be the same grade of room when you get there. I've rated the rooms as average but that's compared to what I'd expect from this type of hotel.

I stayed in this hotel only for one night in September and prior to me arriving and after spending time at two hotels that were sadly lacking I was not looking forward to the experience? but I was wrong. This hotel is what a hotel should be like. The rooms are adequate spacious clean and have tv kettle etc. No silly gimmicks.

The food was a buffet so plenty of choice and it was good food which is what people want. This is a hotel I may well come back to because it knows what customers want.

It has a bar and yes in hotels you pay hotel prices but this is hotel was about right with its prices, I would like to say it makes business sense to charge fair prices because if you charge too much then customers will go somewhere else to drink maybe only having one drink in the hotel, however if the prices are fair then customers will stay and spend more money..it makes sense.

Based on my experience at this hotel I will certainly consider this group in the future

If you plan a short stay (3-4 days), this is an excellent choice:
clean, quiet, plenty of space in the swimming pool, breakfast will lots of choice.
Dinner not always good, but there the menu changes daily.
Use the tramline to get to mannheim for some shopping.
We didn't do it, but hiking in surrounding nature could be interesting (vineyards, hills)

Booked this hotel through Accor's family option where you get a second room at 40% off. Excellent we thought, opportunity to put the 2.5 year old in his own room and enjoy some uninterrupted sleep. But alas not. The hotels interpretation of a family room was two single, yes single rooms (two rooms with just one single bed in each) with no interconnecting door as suitable. The lung girl behind the counter could not understand the issue. In the end we got a double room with a cot in the corner.

Anyhow, the rooms were ok but we're super hot with no aircond. At least they provided a fan. The water park next door as loved by the little one.

The restaurant staff need a refresher course in customer relations. There was a distinct feeling that they were understaffed and probably working long hours with little reward. The standard of food also left a little to be desired.

(+)
Reception: Very friendly and multilingual crew; always ready to help
Room: The room was clean; not very big, but spacious enough;
Restaurant: Nice restaurant that offers a varied buffet;
Environment: A lot of sightseeing is possible within a 5 min. radius, beautiful locations and trails/hiking routes close to the hotel and surrounded with vineyards; because we were also looking for a place to relax, the adjacent swimming pools of the "Salinarium" were a nice extra.

(-)
Room: We had to keep the windows open at night because the room was too warm without airconditioning.
Restaurant: With a full restaurant, the staff was a bit overwhelmed and it could take some time before things were refilled
