Bad Soden am Taunus is full with Italian Restaurants. You find the typical Pizzeria, Trattoria and others where you can have standard food.
If you are looking for Pizza, you do not go to Casa Mendelssohn.
Casa Mendelssohn is a place to dine and a place where you will celebrate every piece you eat.
Their "antipasti" are excellent and always fresh. Scalops and calamari are poems ... tender and perfectly spiced.
You should try their lamb chops! Not always available, but if you ask in advance, they will have it.
The lammchops are cooked in a sophisticated crust of spices and other secrets ingredients. A delicious thyme natural sauce, fresh vegetables and tasty pumpkin purée make the lamb chops perfect.
You will find a good selection of wines at different price levels.
The restaurant is not big. It is an old house where Mendelssohn Bartholdy used to stay.
The tables are close but you do not hear what the others are talking if you do not put attention to it. The decoration is unostentatious but nice. In summer it is nice seating outside.
The service is serious in an Italian Way. Some people could understand it as arrogance, but it is not stiff. The service is friendly and always keen to give their best. From time to time the cook comes out of the kitchen and talk to the guests.
It is always a pleasure to dine at Casa Medelssohn.
