“Great location, large plain room”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

We stayed here for one night in order to see the Neuschwanstein castle, which is a few minutes away. Location was great. Hotel is on a main street and not much around. It's good for a one-night rest. It reminded me of a college dorm room - sparsely decorated and a frigid decor. Our room was large with a view of the main street. It's not a warm and inviting place, but it is a good price for what you get. It is clean and has a nice breakfast spread.

We stayed here for one night and had a very good time. Our balcony had a view of the castle which was stunning. The hotel is clean and well run but not luxurious. I requested a bath on my booking form and we were given a room with bath and shower. I also left some clothes behind and the hotel have kindly posted them on to me. There is a great Italian restaurant on the opposite side of the road about five mins walk!

Room Tip: Ask for a castle view!

A family run hotel/bed and breakfast on main road. Staff were okay albeit a little frosty. Room was large, clean and tidy, with balcony from which you could see the castle Neuschwanstein. For 90 euros incl average cold breakfast, was nothing to write home about. No tea/coffee making facilities in room - why not? I wouldn't choose to stay there again - it's a kinda 50 euro a night place.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights at the beginning of May 2013. We made a special request direct to the hotel and on arrival were very pleased that we had been allocated a room with a view of the castle. The room was large and very comfortable. The hotel was very clean throughout. Breakfast was good with a variety of cheese and meats. All members of staff were friendly and helpful and spoke very good English. We were able to walk to a local beer house about a 10 minute walk for food and drink which was very reasonable. The restaurant at the hotel was closed this night (Tuesday). We ate in the hotel restaurant the following night. The food was nice. The location of the hotel was great in which to visit both castles and although it is on a main road, this was very quiet at night and we did not get disturbed by any noise. We had a lovely stay at this hotel and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone and hope to return in the future.

My husband and I stayed here for two nights this past week and everything was lovely! The hosts were so friendly and spoke great English. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant served delicious Bavarian food and beer, and the breakfast was perfect. It is a nice walk from the castles, and a short drive from Füssen. We only wish we had more time to spend in Germany! We will definitely be back in the summer. Thanks again!

Stayed at this hotel recently for 2 nights visiting the local castles.
Located close to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles, we were glad we chose this place to stay. Hostess was friendly. Rooms were adequate size with a separate siting area and a balcony. We had requested for and got rooms with castle views.
Hotel has a restaurant that served sumptuous bavarian food and good beer.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

We were 2 couples travelling together and booked this hotel based on the reviews on Tripadvisor. We stayed here for 2 nights as we were visiting the three castles in the area - Linderhof Palace, Neuschwanstein castle and Hohenschwangau castle.

We were given two rooms on the second floor with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains and the Neuschwanstein castle.

We arrived quite late and the staff at the reception were great. The room was a very good size with a separate seating area and a balcony. The bathroom was a very good size as well with a good strong shower. Even though the rooms were located in the front of the hotel and faced the road, there was no noise at night. Breakfast was adequate with good variety.

The first evening we had dinner in the hotel's own restaurant - the beer and the Bavarian meal was excellent and the service very good. There are plenty of choices for eating within a few minutes walk from the hotel. The second evening we had dinner in another lovely traditional local restaurant - the food and service was again second to none.

The only minus was that there was no lift and so we had to carry our bags up the stairs, but this is a minor discomfort and does not take away from the other positive attributes of this lovely traditional hotel.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all those people who reviewed this hotel on Tripadvisor as else we would not have found this one.

The hotel is very reasonably priced for the location and the facilities it offers. A fantastic find and we will definitely be returning to this place the next time we are in the area.

Room Tip: All rooms face the castle and mountains - so you cannot go wrong with this one! :)
