“Outstanding B & B”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

More like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. Monika, her dog Lotte, and all of her staff do an excellent job. Great proximity to the castles. The best breakfast I have ever had in my life. I want to go back for Monika's bread alone. Eggs cooked to order, homemade breads, jams, and jellies. It feels like a Ski Lodge. We stayed on our honeymoon for a night and were sad to leave. We had the top floor facing the street and there was no noise from the road. We would highly recommend!

Room Tip: Any room is great. Even facing the street.

Doesn’t get much better than this wonderful hotel if you want to visit Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and Toelz. It really is more of a B&B than a hotel with nicely furnished rooms with a large bed, flat screen TV, a balcony with a table and two chairs. Also, the room had two sitting chairs, a couch and coffee table plus a desk and plenty of closet space. The bathroom was modern and well equipped. Breakfast was in the rear of the main building in a nicely decorated sun room. Breakfast was fabulous and abundant, with home made breads, cakes, jams, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausages and a nice assortment of warm side dishes, cold meats cheeses, breads and rolls, yogurts, juices, and a pot of coffee. And best of all, it is included in the price.
The staff is very friendly and helpful and the owner, Monica, speaks excellent English. Lotte, the resident dog, makes sure everybody is happy and relaxed, Highly recommended all the way around.

Hotel is split between two adjacent Bavarian chalets. Run by a very welcoming and helpful owner.
Rooms are OK but it's all a bit chintzy and fussy for my tastes. Disappointed that all the cooked breakfast food had run out by 08:30 and that there was no decaffeinated coffee.

Very handy for the Schloss and reasonable value.

Room Tip: Get a room in the chalet furthest from the road as the roadside one was noisy.

Who thinks that the more you pay, the most you have? This hotel shows how budget hotels can be cozy if ran with care and passion. It is a B&B more than an hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean, have a suite and balcony. Free wifi (good speed) is available in all the rooms.
Mrs Marika runs the hotel with extreme care. The breakfast is abundant and served in a stilish location. I was on a journey with my brother and we decided to stay one day more to better enjoy the surrounding attractions. The hotel is between Fussen and Swangau, accross the road to the castles. This means that is not enough close to walk, but you can easily reach whatever location by bike.

This was our second stay at this B&B and our experience was just as good as our first visit over 12mths ago. A very warm, friendly welcome. Our room was very bright, clean and comfortable. The breakfast had as good a selection of homemade breads, cakes and jams as you could wish for. In all, I would highly recommend this establishment!

As a family of four, we stayed in this hotel for two nights, primarily to see the nearby royal castles. The staff, lead by Moni, is unbelievably friendly and accommodating. She gave us excellent recommendations for local eateries and attractions, and our kids loved her instantly. Our rooms were spacious and clean, the beds really comfy. The room decorations had a clear Bavarian/Alpine feel to them, making it clear that you're not staying in a Holiday Inn. It was quiet and peaceful.

The breakfast really is from out of this world. An unbelievable variety of delicious choices. Many of them freshly prepared. Many of them typical German/Bavarian food (rather than your garden variety chain-hotel breakfast buffet). Fresh butter from a mountainside farm, home-cooked jams, ofen-warm cakes, a whole cornucopia of local cheeses and meats, as well as the many varieties of crunchy bread that Germany (rightfully) is famous for. Plus local delicacies like "Dampfnudeln" and, of course, the Guglhupf cake that the establishment is named for.

I cannot recommend this place highly enough.
