“It was work but felt like a holiday !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

Enjoyed this hotel as a UK delegate of a world sales conference, would take the family back to enjoy this lovely part of the world. The hotel was immaculate as was my room and bathroom, breakfast superb too. All staff had time and a smile for all, which made my 3 day stay enjoyable.
Only complaint being the poor air con in the large room the conference was held in which made for a very warm couple of days work !!!! The town of Bad Tolz is superb, a varied choice of local eateries and a music festival by the river added to our enjoyment, England v Sweden on the Friday of our stay made for a brilliant time in a local bar !!!!! As the only English supporter it was a proper laugh, German hospitality at its best !!!

The hotel Jodquellenhof is a great hotel and very friendly staff. The rooms and bathrooms are larger than most European hotels. There are a lot of nearby bars and eateries. The hotel is located in the newer part of the city of Bad Tolz. A 10 min walk down the hill and across the river and you are in the older part.

The water park is awesome and kids would love this place

Room Tip: I would face the back of the hotel for a quieter location

The hotel is connected to the Alpamare Spa its a nice aquapark great for a a day stay. The hotel was great it was nice clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a great time. Like I said its great for a a day or two day visit. Can't imagine it would be interesting or fun to stay longer.

The hotel is an old building with creaky floors .Rooms are more functional than luxurious.Having said that the bathrooms are brandnew (or at least ours was) and refurbished. We booked a family room with bunk beds for the children - the bunkbeds are not fulll sized beds ,so if your children are tall they may not suit. They were fine for our 8 year old,but a bit too short for our 11 year old. However, the fantastic thing about this hotel is the access to Alpamare.Hotel guests can enter through a special walkway 1hour before it opens to the public. In winter it is absolutely fabulous to be able to walk through this indoor corridor in your dressing gown and to have the whole of the Alpamare almost to yourself. The outdoor pools, surrounded by snow are just gorgeous! Breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious and dinner had some of the best childrens' selections we have come across.A nice touch was that we all received beautiful shower gels and jams as christmas gifts from the manager - beautifully wrapped! thank you again!

My Husband and I went to Bad Tolz for some R&R and this hotel was just WONDERFUL! We were able to get a package deal which included a phenomenal buffet breakfast every morning, 4-course dinners, two 2-hr sessions of ayurveda massage/treatments, free entry to the Alpamare water park, fresh fruit basket on arrival, Fresh mineral water to our room every day, and a hotel that really goes the extra mile for its guests.
Everything had been thought of to make sure the stay was as comfortable as possible. We had bathrobes, slippers, big towels and waterproof tote bag for anything we would need for the Alpamare. They also have a really cool "coin chip" system where they load 50 Euro onto the chip and you can use this for anything you may want to buy in the hotel or waterpark so that you don't have to carry cash or credit cards with you.
Every afternoon there was a wonderful afternoon tea set up in the hotel lobby/lounge area. You could help yourself to a large array of teas, make a pot, enjoy some delicious German pastries/cakes and curl up on one of the couches with one of the many magazines they had ready for you to choose from.
Our room was simple but nice, tall ceilings and beautiful big white marble bathroom with a massively deep and long tub to soak in. The towels were constantly replaced which was handy especially if visiting the Alpamare water park multiple times a day. Chocolates on the bed in the evenings was a sweet touch too.
If you're looking for some R&R, quiet and tranquility, a place to just kick back, be pampered, relax and forget the rest of the world, this is a wonderful place to be.

We selected this property as it has a built-in activity for our children -- the fantastic Alpenmare waterpark. Our suite had a comfortable room for the parents and a fantastic bunk bed area with its own door for the kids, which they loved. The hotel also provides robes, slippers and a bag for the waterpark, as well as early access before it actually opens, and you just enter through a dedicated lift and corridor.

We only ate at the hotel for breakfast, which was a plentiful buffet with good choices for all family members.

With a lovely Christmas market within walking distance, good restaurants, and the Alpenmare waterpark on your doorstep, this hotel was a fantastic option for a family of four just before the holidays.
