Spent a night here August 2011. Location good, despite being on an irritating one-way ring road. Price was Ok, about 70€ /dbl room w/bathroom. Reception staff were very friendly. Parking was at the rear, and the staff also kindly explained on-road parking alternatives, where was Ok to leave a vehicle, until what time, etc.
Our front facing room was on the first (or was it second?) floor, it looked out over the inner ring road which was fairly quiet. Bed was clean and fairly comfortable. Breakfast included and was OK/average - not much hot food.
Now for the negatives: the room was in dire need of a refit. The wallpaper was tatty, furniture mismatched and shabby, the curtains useless and threadbare - we were worken literally at the crack of dawn by the light. The bathroom was also showing its age badly. There was a guest handbook with page after page of threats of dire penalties for those unfortunates who lose their key (including photocopied articles on the subject), or, even more unfortunately, who 'wet the bed with any kind of fluid' ! (that's a quote - enough said). Totally unnecessary.
There was bizarre decoration of dubious taste throughout the hotel. In our room, a crappy old flag hung on one wall. There was even a glass display cabinet on one landing brimming with hideous ornaments. Similarly, the breakfast room had yet more tacky knick-knacks on the window sills. All this tasteless clutter gives the impression that the place is run by some kind of crank, despite the good service and warm welcome. Overall, for the money, I'd say this hotel was average.
