“Different but Very Good”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Only stayed for 1 night in early July but had a great time and would certainly use again.
Staff were friendly and very helpful, the beer garden and outside eating was excellent, very busy and the atomsphere was very enjoyable.
The room was good, clean and of a decent size.
If you like big modern hotels then don't come here, but if you want some local flavour then this is a good as any.
It's also only a short walk from the S Bahn which connects direct to the airport and city, which are both about 15 minutes away, cost was 7 Euros.

Spent a night here, a great break from the generic superchain hotels. A short walk from S-Bahn with quick rail connection to MUC airport or downtown Munich. The hotel looks very traditional from the outside and inside, with a Bavarian flavor throughout, especially the lobby area. The beer garden of the hotel seemed very popular with locals and was packed on a warm Sunday afternoon. The hotel is right at old town center and church square with a creek running through the property. Very nice and quiet little town.

I had a small single room on the third floor that was basic but clean and with a modern bathroom. The breakfast was hearty and included in the room rate.

Room Tip: During very hot weather the upper floors might get a bit warm, ask for a room on low floor.

This is a great find, a really nice hotel with a great kitchen. Make reservation for dinner. If you catch good weather, you can reserve a table outside. The Beer Garden is really popular and self serve food is available. The Beer Garden food is delicious, but limited in variety. It goes without saying, the beer is great. They set a terrific breakfast buffet. There is free WiFi throughout the hotel. It is a short walk to the S-Bahn station for easy access to Munich and other locals and it's relatively close to the airport. For arrival, or departure from Germany, this is a perfect stay.

I needed a place to stay overnight between flights in and out of Munich airport, but didn't want to be too close to the airport (or pay extra for wifi), and wanted a more "local" experience than is typically offered by airport hotels. This hotel is a gem, set in a quiet town (Ismaning), just 3 stops by S-Bahn from the airport. Rooms are comfortable, spacious and well-equipped, and it has a great restaurant and outdoor beer garden, offering traditional Bavarian food as well as other dishes. Also an excellent breakfast. One of the best hotel experiences I've had recently.
[One hopefully helpful hint: if you take the S-Bahn, a "day ticket" for the outer Munich area is cheaper than a single fare.]

I am of german heritage but live in texas. I visited this hotel for 5 days taking my family of 15
children and grandchildren to visit the land of their ancestors. Hotel muehle was the greatest, the rooms were large, clean, comfortable. The staff was great and very friendly and competent, the outdoor beer garden was am experience in german culture. the resturarant was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler. The hotel was quiet and set in a beautiful small city close to the airport and Munich city center. Everything promised and contracted to by internet was exactly as promised. Day trips to Dachau, Marienplatz, Fussen, Eagles Nest no problem by car.

First time staying at the hotel and enjoyed my visit. It does have old world charm and feel but also has newer amenities such as wi-fi, updated bathrooms, tv, etc. The staff is friendly and speaks decent English, too. I've eaten at the restaurant a number of times and really enjoy the hearty local cuisine and good Bavarian bier. The hotel grounds and surrounding neighborhood is good for a walk after dinner, too. One slight downside is no fitness gym, but they do have a small pool for the kids and a good sauna area for adults.
