I was travelling in Central Europe in June and decided to stop in Memmingen in my way to Munich without any information of the town. The center of the town was extremely beautiful as in so many German towns with its Tor, Rathaus, old buildings, channels, biergartens and pleasant athmosphere.

But avoid Gasthaus zum Schwanen ! When a friendly reception clerk had booked us came the Chef (Herrn. Ibrahimovitch) in and told us that the hotel was already booked. He offered us a more expensive hotel at our expense. Finally he drove us to Gasthaus Krone (ok) and promised to pick us up next morning. We never saw him again (perhaps fortunately). When back in the center the staff told us that he was on a holiday.
