“Will come back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

We stayed two nights and enjoyed this comfortable hotel in a good location. It was easy to walk to the older part of Bingen and park the cars. The front desk folks were especially attentive. It is not a hotel chain-type atmosphere, but a little more homey. The prices were very good and so was the breakfast. Will stay there again as this place and Bingen are lovely.

Good size room, clean, and free wifi in the public area. The owner is like this young 21 yrs old guy who man the desk sometimes. Would recommend this place.

Room Tip: 15 min walk from downtown area. There is a big grocery store nearby.

We received a very friendly welcome (excellent English quickly put my schoolboy German out of its misery). Free parking was available opposite the hotel. Our room was clean, well-appointed and spacious. Two flights of stairs with heavy cases could be taxing, but I’m guessing that help would have been offered if needed. The buffet breakfasts were included in the tariff and were plentiful and varied.

A five-minute walk took us into town where there were plenty of restaurants (but many closed on Mondays), but we took the local choice of the Italian restaurant just a few yards down the road and were very pleased with it. There was plenty of useful information available on Rhine cruises; and the picturesque town of Rüdesheim was just a ferry-ride across the river.

Used this hotel for an overnight top on the way to Austria - not sure what to expect given the really negative review on this site. However, we were warmly welcomed by a friendly receptionist who was most helpful when we asked about restaurants in the area. The hotel was spotless, the room clean and comfortable, and there was an excellent choice at breakfast, again helped by friendly staff. The only downside was the lack of a lift, but we needed to burn off some calories anyway! The parking across the road was just a matter of feet away and was free anyway, so no problem. I would happily go back.

I arrived in Bingen at 5pm on a bicycle, having nowhere to stay. Went to Jugendherberge - they were full and said, due to a festival, ALL rooms in the town were booked up and I would find nowhere to stay. People were even coming across the river, where there was also a festival, looking for rooms. Being alone and 70, I was pretty upset at this. I returned to Rupertsberg Street, determining to knock on every door. I asked the Angels for help, as I had been doing on this trip. The first door I knocked on was the Guesthouse referred to in your first review 'Never Again'. An elderly man came to the door and told me the business was closed. I told him how desperate I was and asked him for help in finding somewhere. He then told me he owned the hotel across the road, but it also was full. Then he made a phone call and told me, "Go to the hotel, they have a room for you. It is small but it is clean and it is cheap." I thanked him, and on arrival at the hotel was told 'This is a room we keep for the bus driver when he comes with a party. But Herr --- says you can have it." I had a wonderful stay and am eternally grateful both to the owner and the Angels who helped.

Reception unfriendly. We were forced to carry our luggage out of the hotel and across the road to a guest house with a different name. We were told to park car in public car park despite hotel spaces being available.
The room was depressing with food on carpet and stains on table cloth. The bedding was old and worn and the pillow ancient and uncomfortable. The bathroom although modern had a filthy toilet brush on display. No soap or shampoo provided save an ill placed dispenser which could not be accessed when in shower. Towels all different and extremely worn. At check out staff unfriendly and indifferent.
