We tried to book a restaurant table for 6 persons for the Christmas holiday 25th Dec 2013
Front desk was absolutely rude, arrogant and unhelpful.
We have never experienced such attitude at a hotel desk before.

This hotel is lovely. Bad Pyrmont is a small town and the hotel is right in the centre of everywhere.

The stand out point for us was the food at the restaurant...it was amazing. The waiters were really polite and helpful too. Nothing is too much trouble for them

The bad point is and it may just be my wife and I but the pillows are very soft so neck support is minimal...maybe its a German thing? First time in Germany so I don't know!

Make sure you visit the markets up the road...the food is lovely there too! I'm sure I put on a stone in 3 days!

Have just returned from a 3 day stay at this beautiful hotel. We went for a relaxing mini-break and it certainly did the job.
The hotel is situated in a wonderful park and the lovely town of Bad Pyrmont. As soon as you walk in to the hotel you know it will be a great experience. The reception staff were very helpful and professional. The room, a deluxe with a balcony, was spacious and had a great view- we sat on the balcony and listened to the live music from the park stage. The breakfast was second to none- honestly there was everything you could desire even freshly squeezed orange juice and sect. The staff in the restaurant were lovely and friendly. I can't comment on dinner as we ate out in the evening- there are lots of great places to eat in the town.
The spa area and pool were really relaxing. We tried the salt room which was lovely. The only complaint is that we came to this hotel to enjoy the spa and have some treatments. Sadly we spent the first day trying to track down the lady who managed the beauty treatments- we failed. The second day we left a message and finally she made contact- we were not happy to discover that we couldn't book a massage. The hotel did arrange for us to go and have one at another location but we were not happy with this. Even though this sort of trip tends to be last minute the reception staff said you need to book these treatments in advance- this seemed odd to us especially as this is a spa hotel and a famous one!! You'd expect a better standard of service.
However, we did not allow this to spoil our stay and will definitely go back. Next time we might even take our husbands!!!
Oh just one little thing- we drove there and went to put our car- landrover disco- in their garage and it was too high- garage only takes up to 185- important info if you have a high vehicle!

Room Tip: book a deluxe room with balcony- the views are great

Coming from England we had stayed in the Bad Pyrmont area (and in Steigenberger hotels) before and were keen to stay in this hotel. The location is amazing, situated on the main (largely pedestrianised) avenue of this beautiful spa town with rooms and restaurant terrace looking out onto the Kurpark.

We wanted a room with a view of the park but the first room we were shown had excellent facilities but had no view. The room we took had a wonderful view but needed some refurbishment. Maybe the website could be clearer so guests know what they are booking. And see below re staff helping English guests with less than perfect German.

We had chosen halfboard but as other reviewers have said the dinner menu is disappointing for a hotel of this quality: to have two evenings of nearly inedible 'barbeque/buffet' in a week is very poor for a five star hotel. However breakfast is excellent without a doubt.

I'd echo another point from other reviewers: wifi as a chargeable extra is mean in a hotel of this quality/price. Be aware also that parking does not come cheap (or easy if you have a big car!) in the underground hotel carpark.

The staff are attentive and charming but I was a little surprised how few spoke English so I was glad of my schoolboy German. Contrast check in at the Steigenberger in Dresden where my initial words in halting German were greeted with an immediate response in English. I think the only conversation I had in English in Bad Pyrmont was on checkout - I wish it had been on check in to sort the room more easily.

But overall my wife and I had a memorable and relaxing stay in a very good hotel in a beautiful resort.

Room Tip: It's well worth getting a room with a view of the Kurpark but check when you book.

The hotel lies in the centre of this spa resort, the history of which goes back to as early as the 17th and 18th century. In those days this town was the meeting place of royals and others well off.

The atmosphere of those days is maintained in the old part of town where there are lots of beautiful houses, spa’s and gardens of which the palm garden close to the hotel is spectacular.

The hotel is very large and has retained the grandeur of the old times. All areas seem to be large like the lobby, restaurant and breakfast room. There is a wonderful terrace behind the hotel with a large garden.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. I was allowed to park my bicycle, on which I made a trip, inside the hotel in a safe storage.

My single room was spacious and very clean. There was a large entrance area with storage space, a large bed, desk, easy chair and a balcony where you could sit. The bathroom was spacious with a tub.

The large TV had a good selection of channels including CNN, BBC, etc.

You can get two types of internet in the hotel. One is in the lobby and is free on a logon ticket that last for 8 hours but that is renewed when required. The other is in the rooms and runs on a different network “The Cloud” The first 30 minutes of this service is free but after that you have to pay. The daily rate for this service was € 14, 50 ($ 18, 60 in July 2013) but other rates are available too. There is however free access in your room to the media library on “The Cloud” that will give you various e-magazines and newspapers like US Today, the China Daily, etc.

The breakfast buffet was very good with a large selection. There is a cook that can make your egg to order and you can press your own fresh orange juice.

Overall I was delighted by the small details like the bathrobe and slippers in the bathroom. On arrival you get a small book full of vouchers and a free personalized Pyrmont Card that gives you free entrance or reduced rates for many venues in town

When you are in Bad Pyrmont the “water castle” close to the hotel is worth a visit.

One of the best stays I have ever had. Being the second time to stay there I found the same fantastic hotel as the first stay. A retirement town, but built around the "curative" spring waters the quality of which is one of the finest in the world. Whether you stay for the waters, spa, sauna, hot tub, pool, massages, salt cave, the great meals in the restaurant, huge breakfast selection, the New Bavarian restaurant attached to the hotel, beer and wine, first class staff, friendly strools around town and shopping, the huge Kurpark and Palm garden so much to list . The staff will do everything to accomedate your needs, and all with a smile and a "Thank You". Don't forget to visit the town of Hameln (Hamlin) a short distance away, where the story of "The Pied Piper" came from. A very posh hotel for a quiet, relaxing stay.
