“Great bed and good customer service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2013

We stayed for one night with two children aged 7 and 8 and had a pretty good evenings rest only spoilt by some late night revellers making too much noise. We told the friendly staff about this and we were offered a free breakfast!

Great location in nice village on outskirts of London. Little too far for easy access to tube (15 mins walk - up hill on way back to hotel - £4 in a taxi).

Very clean and great breakfast. Staff very helpful and great service. Nice pub next door with good food (could do with a refurbishment).

Tucked away in a leafy road but still in a London Borough. This is a very nice and quiet Premier Inn (It used to be a Holiday Inn Express) so the spec is much higher than normal. Loads of free parking and it sits next to (the same site) a large Toby Carvery (you can have a breakfast here on certain days).
What makes it really good is that you can easily walk to the Central Line Tube Station at Buckhurst Hill and the centre of London is just a whizz away.
Very Highly Recommended

Our room had a generating station as the next property. The whole side of the Premier Inn adjacent to this was affected by continual hum. The room needed ventilation and as a consequence we either couldn't sleep from heat or noise. I would strongly suggest that if a reservation is considered this area must be avoided. The rooms and service were good and if an air conditioning system were to be installed there would have been only praise for our stay.

I've stayed in many Premier Inns and really trust the brand. Never had a bad experience but some are better than others.
This one was shaping up to be just fine, usual comfy bed but only a shower rather than a bath.
Location is ok but nothing much in the locality although the food at the Toby Carvery next door is ok.
The staff were excellent and very friendly and helpful.
The best was to come at breakfast though. I've always enjoyed the Premier Inn breakfast but I could not fault this one.
The poached eggs were perfectly runny, the sausages and bacon just right and the most amazing thing was the toaster. Usually, these conveyor toasters either burn one side or the other or be so light that they need putting through twice.
This one just needed one trip round and was perfectly golden brown. If only all the others were like this.
Great stay and would happily stay again

Myself, my husband and our three children had a great experience at this hotel.
Sleep: premier inn guarantees you a good night sleep and we certainly had that- the beds and pillows are the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a hotel and there is no noise from outside or from neighbouring guests.

Room: the room was not very big for 5 of us, we would love to see a family room available with a interconnecting door as paying for 2 rooms would not have been an option and would have taken from our holiday so unfortunately we cannot stay here when the kids get older and bigger! There is a hairdryer and kettle but no iron, there was little wardrobe storage for 5 but under the beds theres room to put suitcases. The bathroom has a shower, no bath and a very handy lock that when one of the kids inevitably locked themselves in, the door could be opened from the outside- crisis averted!

Location: The location was perfect for us- about a 40min tube ride to the centre(tube station about 20min walk) next door to toby carvery which had great food at a reasonable price and not far from Loughton which had a nice selection of shops.

Food: We only tried breakfast and it was very tasty- it worked out cheaper than the toby carvery for us as they had a kids eat free deal.

Staff: The staff were excellent to deal with from checking in and out and everything in between. It was very hot the end of august when we stayed and we were delighted to see there was already a fan put in the room. All of the staff were very friendly and always had a warm greeting that we felt was genuine- from front desk, breakfast staff, cleaners and even a cleaner we recognised on her way in to work said hello/held the door and chatted to the kids. The hotel was very child-friendly, they too were acknowledged by the staff and this added to our positive experience of the premier inn.
Overall a great stay and we will stay here again but as I mentioned above it will be only for another year or two until the kids get bigger- please consider the family room premier inn!! :-)
