The newest buzz in the city. Raving reviews so time to check out.
First impression is good. When entering the bar area has a cozy flair, although in winter the entry will be problematic with the chilly outside air directly blowing into the bar area.
The restaurant part is very nicely decorated. The area is quite cramped and we have difficulty getting to and from our seats passing other customers. The seats are garden furniture and not suited to sit for longer periods.
The menu is simple french combined with steaks. It happens to be Alsace speciality week. The prices are quite high for Konstanz.
We order escargots (2x), three steaks, salads and an Alsace meat pot. The escargots are the worst I have had, ever. Tasteless snails, no bread and no escargot utensis. The waiter has no clue what we ask for and in the end brings two sizes of forks. In general the service is clumsy. No clue about the menu and reaching over ones food to clear the others dishes. Not good. Why any way this rush to clear dishes why others at the table haven't finished yet? A dishes shortage?
The steaks are okay but the two medium rares are very different. It seems good luck how the steak turns out. The french pot tastes like it has been warmed up from the day before.
All in all very disappointing. Medium food, bad service against relative high prices. A nice idea and being the new shop in town just isn't enough.
