Bill Marriot doesn’t give anything away. Nice enough hotel on a busy street surrounded by used car lots, and a 30-minute walk to the European Delivery Center. October 2006, 144 € senior rate WITHOUT breakfast. Nice Continental breakfast in room 13 € per person + tip. A one liter bottle of Evian in the room- but 5 € please. Two bottles of local wine also on a little table @ 7.50 € each. WiFi 12.50 € a day. Turned out WiFi was a bargain as dial-up to Stuttgart ended up costing 26 € for two days. One energy saving florescent light by the two beds so you can barely read. No coffee maker in the room, (Bill makes more money that way). Mini-bar but no safe. 19 inch Phillips TV that is so old the numbers on the remote are worn away, (hey big TV’s cost money). Tiny single-sink bathroom, maybe 8’by 9’, adequate closet. Steakhouse Restaurant very nice but watch out (think Bill) a .75 liter of Pellegrino sparkling water was 8 €!
On the positive side, there was a desk and a captain’s chair with a floor lamp so reading is possible, extra friendly staff, some new special mattresses with plenty of pillows and USA Today outside the door in the morning. Financial Times in the lobby with free apples and a “by 6PM on day of stay” cancellation policy. Windows tilt open about 5 inches at the top. We next stayed in the Quality Hotel Residence, 105 € WITH breakfast but a 24 hour in advance cancellation policy. We much prefer the Quality Hotel Residence for a host of reasons aside from the price, see my review.
