“Very nice Sunday brunch, retaurant annexe too hot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

A couple of friends and I were there for Sunday brunch. The hotel is located in what was the bakery of the army barracks at around 1900. The façade and some parts of the building keep the historical look, but the inside is completely modern. Part of the restaurant is situated in a glass conservatory directly annexed to the main building. This is where our only complaint comes in: it was a hot and humid day and being seated the conservatory with no air conditioning made it very uncomfortable to be there at times.

The food on offer however was excellent, lots of variety with your classical scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, all types of bread, jam, cereal, muesli, fresh fruit, salads, cold cuts, smoked salmon, dessert and what-have-you, and a lovely warm buffet with two choices of meat, fish, different kinds of sauce and gravy as well as vegetable and pasta sides to chose from. Waiters were looking after the buffet and restocking as things ran out.

The layout is well done with three "islands" and the warm buffet to serve one's self, so that there were never any queues to speak of for one buffet (see another review of mine on the topic).

The waitresses (I saw no man serving the tables) were all very polite and attentive, yet discreet so as not to disturb conversation at our table.

For the choice and quality on offer as well as the good service, the price short of €30.00/person is quite reasonable. Parking fees are waived if one has been to the brunch.

I did like the brunch there so much, I am celebrating my birthday there and I would absolutely recommend the place (so long you are not sitting the conservatory in the height of summer).

I recently stayed at this hotel based on tripadvisor recommendations - and have always found tripadvisor to be very accurate - either this is the exception or there is not much else to offer in Ludwigsburg (I have stayed in Stuttgart in the past but was looking for something closer to my business meeting locations). This hotel has a nice restaurant and after dinner area for drinks but rooms are very basic, bathroom was dirty (towels appeared to be either recycled or this hotel needs laundry equipment updates to improve cleaning), and charged for items that are typically part of the base price at other hotels. Front desk staff needs customer service training. Having stayed here, I would suggest to anyone else to read through the reviews and understand if the good reviews are really based on the hotel itself or it's proximity to the downtown area. I will be returning to my previous hotel in Stuttgart on my next business trip.

The hotel is located in a very nice old building, the rooms was big, nice and clean. The breakfast has a big variety of everything, so restaurant is really nice. The location is quite, to walk to center takes about 20 minutes. I would stay in this hotel again.

The Nestor is all about business travelers on an expense account. Tourist are accepted, but I didn't feel particularly welcome. 15 minute walk from the train station, about 10 minutes from Ludwig's Palace. At 130Euros/night for a small double it doesn't appear to be overpriced until the additional charges start hitting. 4.8 E for a couple of hours parking. Was charged for making 7 local calls when only one actually went through. Expensive breakfast, bar and food. No prices on the mini bar, but I can only imagine how expensive it might be. No coffee maker in the room, but they did provide a free internet computer next to the reception.

Not our kind of place.

Stayed by chance as it was all I found on a rainy night in Ludwigsburg. It was clean, reasonable, and the front desk was helpful. I would stay again. Good proximity to Affalterbach, where I was headed.

I was visiting a company in Feuerbach. This was 5 minutes outside, and only 10 mins from Stuttgart centre. Easy to get to from the tube station (5 min walk), Evening meal was good, and the area is quiet and peaceful - I didn't experience any noise or cars like another reviewer. Breakfast was plentiful though not cheap. The public transport in Stuttgart is so frequent and convenient, there is no point in paying a lot more to stay at a similar hotel in the centre. I found the bed comfortable and the room, while compact, was adequate for my needs.
