I ate at this place a couple of times when in Germany on business, and was taken there as a "treat" by two different colleagues, so it obviously has a good reputation locally. This is fairly typical in Germany that this establishment actually brews its own beer, and you can have a tour around the brewery part. I did, and having been subjected to a few brewery tours in my time, and they are all pretty much the same, I was more keen to sample the end product than I was to find out how its made!
The beer is, of course, excellent. The food was ok, pretty filling stuff, and I must admit I had the same thing both times because I am veggie and that was the option. It was nice though.
The decor is kind of "German pub", quite rustic and old fashioned and in keeping with atmosphere. There is a good atmosphere in there both at lunchtime and in the evening, predictably a bit livelier in the evening. I'm not sure how much it cost, but I'm pretty sure it was reasonable. I'd go back there for another beer, but probably wouldn't choose to eat there, as that would mean having the same dish a third time (so thats not really a lack of recommendation on my part). Oh, and make sure you have a designated driver with you (and that it isn't you).
