“Brilliant experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

Has been voted European museum of the year in the past, so I think that speaks for itself. So much to see so you need to get there early as it will take a full day to see. Great for all age groups, either to reminise about the past or to educate the younger ones

“good day out, lots to see”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012

We went to beamish recently on a very wet so it wasn't as busy as it would be in school holidays. At £17.50 for an adults entrance its not cheap but this gives you an annual pass so it is well worth it. There is so much to see you won't see it all in one day so its good you have the annual pass.
We spent a long time exploring the old town, watching boiled sweets being made, exploring the shops & bank and my husband enjoyed checking out the pub, he recommends their cider.
Unfortunately our daughter wanted fish and chips for lunch, we queued for about an hour, they were quite expensive and unfortunately we didn't enjoy them. Our friends had the pie and peas which they enjoyed.
We will definitely be going back as there is so much to see. This is a fab day out that children and adults of all ages could enjoy

“Fascinating and educational”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

This is a wonderful day out for all ages. We have been purely with adults, and with the family and both experiences have been very worthwhile. A day really isn't long enough to see everything in depth and detail, but fortunately having paid for your entrance you are then entitled to a pass which covers a full year's admission - that makes it extremely good value for money! Even if the weather isn't terrific, there is lots to do and shelter you can take.

The tea rooms work our rather expensive, and certainly if the weather is good it would be better value to take your own picnic. The choice is yours - so it's not really a black mark against the attraction, but I would recommend that they review their prices!

When we went last week there was a Georgian fair taking place over a period of four days, which was excellent for both adults and children alike - an extra bonus!

If you haven't been to an attraction like this before, then you must try Beamish - I'm sure you won't regret it.

“Childhood Memories!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

Both my wife & I were brought up in Co.Durham, although we now live in Cumbria, and were absolutely thrilled to re-visit our childhood at this excellent museum. The re-creation of a typical "Main Street" is absolutely perfect.
Highly recommended for all ages!!!
