Hotel is conveniently located near the Geneva airport. It is a 5 min walk to the tram station which will take you directly into downtown Geneva (about a 15 min ride). The hotel is very upscale with a very expensive Japanese restaurant (good food, but overpriced). The room was nice, but not over the top. I did not get a chance to check out the spa services, which I gathered were not in the main part of the building, but I did try the fitness center. It was empty when I was there, but there are free weights, benches, treadmills, elliptical machines. There was a water dispenser and cups and towels as well. The hotel was very quiet in the room which was nice, no airplane noise at all. Breakfast was a nice selection of breads, meats, cheeses, fruits, juices, jams, yogurts, etc. The breakfast staff was busy and made a mistake with our coffee order, but it was no problem. Parking is ample in the parking garage under the hotel, but it wasn't easy to find the elevator from there! The hotel was nice, but it is unlikely that I would stay there again unless just I had an overnight due to plane delay or something like that.

Dear TandCfromHawaii ,

Many thanks for taking the time to post your comments further to your stay wiht us here at the Mövenpick HOtel & Casino Geneva.

I was glad to read that in general you enjoyed your stay with us.

I hvae taken good note of your comment relative to the poor value for money you felt you had; let me assure you that prices we charge are very similar to other hotels from the same quality here in the Geneva airport area

Thanking you again for your tiem and comments

Your Sincerely

The first thing that struck us on check in was how small the room was. We could barely fit around the bed! The second thing was we were given one bed and we weren't a couple. We went down to inquire about a room with two beds. The staff member at the front desk told us that she could sell us an upgrade for the equivalent of 60 USD. I asked if the hotel was full and she said no but "they are always hoping and expecting to sell more rooms" and even though we were already there we couldn't have two beds without paying more. Why not delight those customers you already have before waiting to woo customers who haven't shown up? We checked our reservation and while it did indeed say king, the bed in our room was a queen sized, maybe slightly larger, but definitely not a King as advertised.

Of course a comfortable bed isn't the only thing that cost extra...wifi, breakfast (which was about 30 euros or 45 USD for a just so-so offering), you name it, they hope you'll pay. Plus it's not worth those extras as the decor is just a basic no frills business hotel. The one bright spot is the beautiful top floor gym with a view of the airport. This miraculously is included with your room.

Room Tip: Don't book a king expecting to get a king bed. Rooms advertised as king have American Queen siz...

Hotel is very close to airport (you might be lucky and get a room with a few of it) and conveniently located -- if your meetings are nearby, the this is the hotel for you (e.g. free airport shuttle), otherwise stay downtown near the train station. Services is very good and friendly, breakfast is copious and good. Rooms are fine, though somewhat dated and worn. Internet is mediocre. I do not know what the cost of the hotel is as it covered by the meeting I was attending. However, would I stay there if I had to pay for it? No.

This hotel is not a five star hotel, I would class it as just three star.

Pros - great location if you need to be near the airport for an early flight as shuttle service was good and only a 5 minute ride.

Cons - dirty,
- expensive, overpriced for what it is.
- Internet did not work

I am not going to go on, this hotel is what I expect for 3 stars, the pice is double what it should be.

Just a quick in And out of Geneva
Reception was friendly but somewhat overdone .
Room was spacious and very comfortable .
Breakfast was good with all the regular flair , breakfast crew were very cheerful even with the bus load of demanding tourists filling every chair
All in all a great stay just a littler annoyed that with Mövenpick Hotels Wifi and breakfast are still charged extra
Would still recommend this hotel

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel. The whole experience was not bad, but this is not a 5 star hotel, I would say 4.

Check in was very quickly

The room was not so big, but it was ok. Unfortunately it was not so clean, like you expect in a 5 star hotel.
The room was also a bit dated and the carpet a bit dirty.
The best thing was the very comfortable bed and the bathroom.
Although the hotel is located near the airport, you don't hear too much noise of the planes.

There is also a freeshuttle that brings you every 20 minutes directly to the airport. So the hotel is perfect located if you want an hotel near the airport or palexpo.
From Geneva center it is about 20 minutes by bus.
If you coming by car you can park your car at the garage hotel for 20.- daily. That's good

We also had a dinner at the mövenpick restaurant which was very good, unfortunately the waiter was very unfriendly.

I can recommend this hotel, but you don't have to expect a 5 star luxury.
