“Aeschi - Quiet Village location in Bernese Oberland”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

I stayed at Aeschipark hotel with a Group during the first week of October 2012.
It was my fifth visit to this Hotel in the last eight years.
The location is beautifully quiet with easy access to all parts of the Bernese Oberland by car or by using local Postbus and Rail connections.
The Hotel is well run by Ursula and Rainer Freidl and their Staff. Most rooms have balconies with mountain and/or view of Lake Thun. All are well furnished, have direct dial telephone and television. WiFi connections are available with free use of PC in the Bar area.
The quality of service and meal choices has improved considerably since my last visit three years ago and now choices are good and portions very satisfying. The Bar remains well stocked with spirits and local beers.
It is worthy of note that although October is essentially an out-of-season period in Switzerland the Hotel was full every night during my stay and was to remain full after our own group left as others arrived and this must reflect the popularity of the Hotel and it's location.
There are some small shops, a post office and a small supermarket within a few yards of the Hotel and the Tourist Information Office is directly across the road from the Hotel and offers help and advice on facilities thoughout the area.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook the main village road and the Hotel entrance and there can be some disturbance w...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Sayed for one week with 4 people, including 2 kids. Very spacious and clean apartment, with 2 separate bedrooms and 2 toilets, a kitchen and a bathroom with shower, and a small balcony. Wonderful view of the mountains at the front side, and lake view at the backside. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Nice quiet little village to stay, though one week is more than enough. Tourist tax is quite high and it was a bit annoying that as a guest of the hotel I had to pay 7 chf per night for parking. But then again.... Switzerland *is* very expensive

Room Tip: Choose lake view

I passed three nice days in this wonderful location.
I slept in a flat with kitchen.Very wide, only the sheets a bit consumed and pillows too soft.
No italian tv(i.'m italian).
Big surprise. They didn t register me and didn t release a receipt, despite i paid with credit card.
Everywhere the same when it's about to save money.
