What a great winter experience!! Roseanne is a wonderful, informative and experienced guide. We left the Silverstar Village at 6ish and were led on an adventure through moonlit, untouched snow, star filled skies above and a quiet shuffle of snowshoes. It was absolutely awesome. We were worried about not being fit enough, but we found it quite easy actually. After snowshoeing for about 2 hours, we arrive at a kerosene lamp lit cabin. There is a dining room that fits about 40 people, and its plenty warm to ward off any chills from spending the last two hours tromping through the snow. We enjoyed a cup of apple cider and hot chocolate. The meal was delicious! Their home made salsa that they serve with chips as an appy is scrumptious. We both ordered ribs and devoured them. The other couple on our tour also enjoyed their meal very much. After dessert we bundled up again and boarded the sleigh outside, which took us back to the village. Bandit (the Wild Horsemans sidekick) was a humorous addition to the mix, he had us entertained at the cabin, playing fetch with snowballs and on the sleigh. If you want an awesome snowshoe excursion this is it!!!!
