“WONDERFUL SURPRISE WE LOVED”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2011

Renza and her husband are great hosts. The house is gorgeous, beautiful garden, a splendid breakfast.
We were surprised by the hospitality not imagine finding a place so welcoming!
Guided us with maps, places to visit and the location is excellent. We went to Padua to Venice by train while being with the rental car was so great that the facilities of locomotion.
Who has the opportunity be sure to visit this quiet B & B and enjoy a good nights sleep after walking a lot.
Obrigada por tudo,
Eliana e Marcos

5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2010

We stayed here for 6 nights in October, 2010 and loved the experience. The location is about 20 miles from Venice. Although we had a car and did a lot of driving to see nearby attractions, we took the train to Venice and it was just soooo easy.

The B&B is in the country about 2 miles from the nearest suburb. We loved the peace and quiet. It was easy to hop on the autostrade for high speed driving trips to places like Verona, Vincenza and Lago di Guarda (to sit by the beach). Be sure to take your GPS with a map chip for Italy ... it is absolutely necessary to navigate successfully!

Our stay at this B and B was beyond all expectations...we were treated as special guests and never, ever were wanting for anything from expresso to incredibly prepared breakfasts to advice on little known sights (with maps and directions included). Our hostess Renza, although possessing only a little english, had no difficulty communicating through her very genuine desire to make our stay in her home a wonderful experience. Over the course of a few days, she became a friend and we would go back gladly.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2007

We only stayed at Covo dell'Arimanno for one night, as a resting place on our way from Modena to Venice, however, we enjoyed the time we spent there very much, and at 60 Euros for one night it is a great value.

Renza, our hostess and co-owner of the property, is very charming and welcoming and did everything to make our stay comfortable. You should be fine if you don't speak Italian, but be prepared for some sign language! Renza speaks little English, but she is studying. Her sister, who lives and works at the B&B, does speak some English. Renza is very knowledgeable about the Veneto region including its history and art. It is worth struggling through any language difficulties to converse with her.

The house is a 150 years old combination house and dairy barn that has been completely remodeled and modernized in a way that appears to have spared no expense. Old beams and bricks are exposed strategically and look great with the mix of hardwood and ceramic tile floors.

The rooms and common area are immaculate. The sheets and towels are of excellent quality. The bed was super-comfortable. The lighting in our bedroom is very romantic, but sufficient for reading in bed. The furnishings are lovely including a sconse light that looked like some unusual ones we saw in Murano - very attractive. There is plenty of drawer and closet space.

The windows are double-hinged so you swing them open from the sides or the bottom. And they are all screened, which is very unusual in the places we have stayed in Europe. The views from the windows were of the beautiful and serene surrounding farmland.

The bathrooms are modern and well-equipped, including nice shower stalls, places to put personal effects, and, in our room, a big window. They have water conserving modern 2 button toilets. There is no hair dryer, but we are pretty sure Renza could provide one if needed.

Breakfast is simple but very good. Renza supplied muesli with yogurt, some croissants, rolls, jam, butter, juice. My wife had a cappuccino, and I had some wonderful hot chocolate.

There is a nice covered front patio where we sat all afternoon resting, reading and writing.

Renza recommended a nearby restaurant (Trattoria da Nicola in Montegrotto) for dinner - and it was possibly the best meal we had in our three weeks in Italy.

The B&B is in Terme Euganee, a very pretty area about 10K south of Padua / Padova. I would recommend this residence as an excellent base for visiting the area including Venice which is a 45 minute train ride away. We plan to come back for a longer stay sometime in the future.

  • Liked — Friendly atmosphere and quiet beautiful surroundings inside the B&B and outside as well.
  • Disliked — There was nothing I did not like - it was the right place at the right time.
