The ambiance of this restaurant in the small village of Valtopina is classic and stylish. The display of a great variety of (local) wines looks wonderful and the setting of furniture is done very elegantly. The quality of food ranges between just good (chicken breast with tomato sause) to superb (beef with pecorino), and the local wine (Sololoro 2008) was more than satisfying. The staff does speak English which is very helpful. But be sure to ask the prices of the unpublished dishes up front. In our case, the manager/chef suggested a mix of antipasti which was 24 Euros in total - a bit more than what we've expected based on the prices of other appetizers. Other than that, a very good restaurant that we hope to visit again on our next visit to Umbria. I just hope they can survive economically: during our two visits, we only saw two other (small) group of guests.
