“An old dowdy hotel.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2010

We viewed the room we were allocated and after looking at the rest of the hotel decided we were not decrepit enough to stay there. This old hotel is way past its "sell by date" and should be gracefully retired.

We originally booked into this hotel for two nights as part of a grand European driving tour, but we left after the first night and were thoroughly relieved to see the back of it.

Oddly enough, we didn't experience any of the problems reported by other people - the room was clean, and the reception staff spoke good English - but the whole "mentality" of the place put both my wife and I on edge.

The hotel itself is old, but not in the glamorous-bygone-era type of way I expected. More of a "let's slap a lick of yellow paint on everything and hope that'll do" kind of way.

This is a hotel that feels every bit as if it's on its last legs, and unfortunately some of the staff act that way too, with an obvious - and sometimes stunning - lack of regard for both the hotel building itself and the guests.

I won't bang on about the specifics of our experience (which relates to both staff and the hotel building itself), but I'll just say - do yourself a favour and stay ANYWHERE other than this place.

We been there in the summer and or room was above the hotel kitchen and in the morning there was all Cockroaches in the badroom.
The food was also terrible and not fresh.
After a couple days we left and go home.
This was realy a horror holiday...

We checked out of this hotel within an hour of arriving because it was just horrendous. We paid the full amount for a night's stay and felt totally conned as it's nothing like the pictures on the web suggest. Absolutely dreadful, waste of time and money.

Need to speak fluent French, as staff do not speak very much English. Found the room we had rather small situated over the kitchens, at times when cleaning waste buckets aroma somewhat obnoxious. Our thoughts are "needs some T.L.C. good situation re local restraurants Found the local sight The Source very good. The surrounding areas are very beautiful. Found the waiters , waitressses reasonably attentive.

We stayed for 7 days with SAGA Holidays and enjoyed our stay. Make sure you are prepared to speak French, as the staff either can't or won't speak English. The bedrooms vary in size considerably, apparently the corner rooms offer the largest size. The room we had appeared to have been recently refurbished with a really good shower. There is no air conditioning and the room got really hot at night, a ceiling fan would have been very welcome. All rooms have a TV but no english speaking channels.

The restaurant provided good meals but the service was poor, the hotel seemed to employ very young people who did not appear to have been very well trained or supervised. Our tour company representative often assisted in serving and clearing plates.

The hotel has a new pool facility outdoors, but does require you to walk across a bed of pebbles to reach the pool - very strange and not very comfortable on the feet!!

The location is very good with an attractive park opposite the hotel.

The hotel is 3 star rated which is about the right rating, so don't expect 4/5 star service or facilities.
