“Fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2014

Had a few days staying at Lo Terrachu hotel. Just love the decoration, each room being unique and such amazing comfortable beds. The hotel has changed so much now it's managed by Sarah and Duncan. We used to go past on our walk near the lake and it used to be plastic tablecloths, snow all over the terrace and not a good atmosphere but now - well the difference is incredible. All rooms are based on a rock hero and decorated really well, new beds, even down to stands made out of records. The bar has so much atmosphere with lots of intimate spaces to sit and chat and lots of candles. The terrace is always clear and we even managed to have lunch outside a couple of times with the help of the on wall heaters. The settees were always full of people enjoying a drink. Altogether a wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Choose a rock hero such as Jimi Hendrix or Led Zepellin or Dave Bowie etc and have a real blast. The...

We visited the Terrachu for dinner having heard it was under new management and were very impressed.
Eating out in Tignes can be a bit expensive but this is one place where I think you would struggle to get better value in resort or back home.
The food was good and nicely presented, the atmosphere was great and the restraunt us quirky and interesting.
Would recomend.

Me and my partner stayed at lo Terrachu for two weeks and adored it. Immediately the staff made us feel like part of the family and were super helpful and went out of their way to cater for all our needs. Location was super handy for the main lifts at le lac and near the bus stop if you wanted to head elsewhere. The room was very big with an enormous enclosed balcony that had amazing views over the lake up to val claret. The bathroom had a large bath which was a very welcome surprise as it was very much needed those first few days after skiing all day. Downstairs is welcoming and homely with lovely touches such as wine decanters used for water and antique candelabras on the tables. The bar area has lots of comfortable sofas etc and the cocktails are yummy. The stand out thing though for me at Lo Terrachu was the food, I've never had such a consistently high standard of food in any other hotel or chalet I have stayed at .... It was casual fine dining every day with dishes like oriental doe tartar, black pudding croquettes and slow braised veal with a parmesan crust.

Overall we were utterly spoilt with our stay at Lo Terrachu

What a fantastic improvement from the previous management. Loved the themed rooms, amazing new beds and decor in the rooms. I can not recommend Lo Terrachu more highly. Thank you particularly to the staff who made our stay very enjoyable and relaxing. Will definitely be returning as soon as possible.

Fantastic hotel, superb food, excellent service with great staff. Views are amazing. Best bar and music in town. Would move in for ever if I could!!

Great shame Trip Advisor can't get their act together and remove all comments about previous winter owners / management (Crystal). Have advised current management to sue Trip Advisor for allowing false representation.

OK it was sunny, very sunny, the day had been blissful and it was only 2pm. The walk around the lakeside, well actually a push on my skis was easy and short. My female friend and I had a shuttle bus to catch just 30 mins away but had we been 'different' sort of friends we might be there now. A great location far from the madding crowd of downtown Tignes but easily within walking, bus or taxi distance. We only had wine but the feel the ambiance was pure Cote d'Azur. Try it I'm going to.

Room Tip: Had a drink only but I will book to stay later in the season.

Love this place now it's under new management. Great food, lovely staff, fabulous drinks at the bar a real range not your normal cheap wine. They've also put a lot of effort into renovations. I'd highly recommend this to anyone.

Room Tip: New beds in every room... lovely!
