“Great Location and Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2011

Stayed at the Chalet Neve for a great weeks skiing from the 9th to 16th Jan this year. Location is absolutely brilliant... you can ski to the door if enough snow and it is right on top of two chairlifts and the Nursery slope.
This was my second visit to Tignes and by far the best Chalet experience so far...a brilliant and enthusiastic Chef and two great staff were what made this chalet so good.
Would recommend to all as a great experience

I stayed in Chalet Neve as part of a large group of 16. We booked with AlpineElements which meant that all flights, transfers, accommodation and food in the chalet were taken care of. The chalet was comfortable with just enough communal room for the total number of people staying (25 in the week we were there). The rooms vary quite a bit from ones with bunk beds and triples with very low ceilings to apartment style rooms with sofas, double beds and kitchenettes. There could be a few more frills thrown in e.g. better toiletries / towels, but you are there for the skiing and if you take that into account, then the accommodation was more than up to scratch. The catering provided by the chalet staff was actually pretty good. The afternoon tea and cake stood out especially - just what you want when you get in from a hard day on the slopes. The staff worked really hard to look after everyone and were very friendly.

Extras in the chalet included an honesty bar, equipment / boot room, lounge area and dining room.

Chalet Neve is located about 150m from the chair lift and if it has been snowing, then you can actually ski to the door. There is a shuttle bus from where the lifts are into the main part of Tignes Le Lac and also to other parts of the resort. It runs very regularly and is free. It is also possible to walk into the main town in approximately 15 minutes where you will find a good selection of shops, bars, restaurant and a very good wellness center / swimming pool which has free (swimming pool) /discounted (wellness and fitness) entry included with your lift pass.

One thing to watch out for is that the charter airline they use (Monarch) is prone to delays and questionable customer service, but they got us there and back!

The holiday as a whole represented great value for money and I would use Alpine elements again.

Room Tip: Take slippers for wearing around the chalet.

This was our first ski holiday as used to staying luxury long haul
The chalet did what it needed to do.
The best thing was the good company and the excellent food cooked by Tim
Chalet hosts Shelly and Paul made our visit comfortable.
The only two things were it was quite compact in our room with three adults, the floor plan was incorret and my husband felt like teenagers as we had to go up a step ladder to get to bed and then crawl into bed, quite fun actually
The room also needed a good dust.
Good snow which enabled you to ski to the lift
Excellent free bus service into town
Plenty of places to eat good food
Lots to do if you dont want to ski/snowboard
I am a total beginner and learnt with Evolution 2 and they got me up on the slopes in 4 days skiing, would definately recommend them
First time with Alpine Elements and would definately go back again.

Alpine Elements have had some bad press in web sites, read this after booking the holiday so set off with some concerns. Almost all were groundless, the team we experienced from collection at the airport, through the chalet hosts, chef, and resort manager were really good. They fully supported our requirements for a great skiing holiday. The food was wholesome and good quality with adequate quantities.
The location was great, 100m walk to the lifts and on 3 days, ski back to the chalet door. We went at half term and were amazed at the lack of queues for the ski lifts if you managed your time around the big lifts.
The one down side, the diagram of the bedrooms we used to book the holiday wernt accurate, and what we expected as 2 single beds on floor level turned out to be one single at floor level and a double at mezannine height. For kids and youngsters, not a problem, but heaving my aching limbs up a ladder after a hard days skiing was not something I wanted. We ended up with a single and a pull out bed. Not ideal, but with all the exercise you sleep well anyway.
We met families that had been with Alpine Elements before, clearly they enjoyed the holiday enough to come back, and on reflection we would use them again, but check the beds first!

Chalet Neve is not big. The bedrooms layout is quirky to say the least. The rooms are clean . The dining area and lounge area can just about fit the 25 max occupancy. That said , this was the best ski holiday ive had !!! The staff (Shelly and Paul ) work very hard to make sure you are well looked after . Chef Tim cooked fantastic food every nite using good , healthy food. Apart from dessert and afternoon cakes !! Which were delicious. The location is superb , close to lifts , ski almost right to back to doorstep and lovely views. Tigne is also a great sli area and caters for all levels. Alpine elements seem to be a descent enough ski company with a great little chalet , but the friendly staff ( and great weather ) made this a holiday to remember.

We recently enjoyed a weeks skiing holiday based in this chalet and we really enjoyed the experience. We have a young family and the room suited us perfectly (a twin sleeping area with additional seating and kitchenette leading to another twin room both sharing the same bathroom), although the toilet and bathroom were a little on the cramped side. Everything was clean and the rooms were "refreshed" every day. The chalet hosts were very welcoming and always ready to assist when needed - thanks Gemma Steve and Tim. It was a real treat for us to be catered for - my wife is still thanking me! - and on the whole the chef did a great job including making adjustments to care for any dietary requirements.
Tignes is not the prettiest resort in the Alps by a long way but as far as the family are concerned it was the best skiing we have ever experienced especially as the lift was within walking distance from the chalet and and the free bus service stopped a similar distance away making getting around the resort very easy.
This was our first experience of catered chalet accommodation and given the value for money and the stress free nature of the experience I think this is how we will be skiing in the future. A word of caution - you won't necessarily know who else is sharing the chalet.

We booked Chalet Neve via Alpine Elements as part of a ski package with flights, airport transport, half board accommodation and lift passes. We had two rooms in the chalet both comfortable with twin beds - one with an ensuite shower and basin, the other with a separate bathroom. There was a comfortable lounge on one floor and a large dining area on another. Skis and boots could be stored down stairs. The nearest lifts were about a three or four minute walk away. Breakfast was very filling with a cooked option every day if you wanted. On returning from a day's skiing there were lovely cakes and coffee or tea. The evening meals were excellent with as much red or white wine as you wanted. Vegetarians were catered for and seemed to have interesting options. While the staff were not resident they arrived early each morning to prepare and were easy to contact when needed. The chalet was kept clean and always had a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We enjoyed meeting the other groups staying at Chalet Neve and would certainly stay there again and use Alpine Elements to make arrangements.
