“Nice family run chalet hotel. Ski-in ski-out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2012

Friendly staff, set menu each night with no alternatives, but generally good (great tartiflette), reasonable bar prices, good ski-in ski-outlocation close to a couple of lifts. Located in a quiet part of Tignes - no local shops or nightlife unless you get on the bus.

Would definitely stay there again. Perfect if you are more of a skier than an après-skier.

Having just come back from a boys ski trip to Tignes and for the second year we stayed at the Hotel Le Dome. It is definitely worth of a mention on Trip Advisor. We had a group of 10. Christian and his team made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble, down to borrowing their own laptop so we could see our daily videos and pictures from the slopes.
The Hotel food was very good and home cooking in the evening was exactly what you need after a hard day on the slopes. The accommodation was very comfortable, excellent shower and TV. Although, we were a group of chaps this is an excellent hotel for a family, although it is a quiet resort.
Excellent access to the slopes with a few minute’s walk to the snow and lifts. On your return you can ski to within yards of the hotel.
All in all a great trip and a quality, yet cost effective base from which you easily explore the other resorts including Val d’isere. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

We just returned from a 5 day boys ski trip to Tignes (mid march 2012), staying at Hotel Le Dome in Les Boisses. Christian, the hotel owner was very accomodating, greeting us on arrival, showing us to our reserved parking space and serving up coffees (it was early morning). They have a ski & boot locker room which is accessible via a code and are a 2 minute walk to the slopes - you join a piste mid way up and can ski down to the main lifts where you can buy your ski-pass. When the snow is good (like last week) you can ski right back to the hotel.

The hotel is in a quiet area of Tignes and would appeal to those that want to focus on skiing and a relatively quiet apres-ski. The hotel has a bar, small lounge area (with log burner) and a flatscreen TV, where we were able to catch the last few matches of the Six Nations Rugby.

The food is excellent (I love Savoyard dishes) and guests are given a choice for starter and dessert. Wine is by caraffe or by the glass and we were spoiled by a sampling of the local Genepi. The waitress (Katherine) was very accomodating and engaging.

The rooms (we had a twin room) were decent (just what you'd expect for a mountainside hotel) and had an ensuite shower room and balcony. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Le Dome and would definitely go back - I might even consider it with my children when they get to the skiing age.

I am a frequent visitor to Espace Killy and have stayed in Val d'isere, Le Lac, Val Claret and Les Brevierres. Last year I found Hotel Le Dome and stayed in Les Boisses for the first time and found it perfect for Espace Killy access. It was such a good experience that I organised a long Ski weekend for 10 friends at Le Dome this year (from which we have just returned) and once again we were not disappointed. Le Dome offers great flexibility, ski accessibility, value for money, hospitality and plentiful local cuisine.

Parking was reserved for us just outside the hotel for an early morning arrival despite the fact we were not checking in until the evening. The rooms were clean and comfy and downstairs there's a great lounge communal area around the bar to entertain ourselves in the evening. The owners were very accommodating regularly lending us their laptop so that we could review our daily skiing antics on screen.

Sure it’s not in the heart of the Tignes resorts but quite frankly that can be a considerable benefit and if you are desperate to partake in the facilities or night life then there is always a free bus link. We were not left wanting and will definitely return at some point in the future

I booked a 2 night stay for a weekend break in January 2011. We selected Le Dome due to its Les Boisses location, as being regular visitors to Tignes we fancied being away from the hustle and bustle of Val Claret and Le Lac for a change. Les Boisses is a total contrast to those areas and offers quaint, traditional buildings instead of purpose built apartment buildings.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were greeted outside by the owner who helped us find a place to park as there was about a foot of fresh snow outside which made finding a spot slightly trickier than normal. Throughout the weekend the hotel staff made themselves readily available to attend to our needs and not once were we kept waiting. The hotel itself is fairly basic but has a really nice charm to it, with rustic alpine furnishings.

During our stay, the restaurant served one set meal per night, with no choice of main course but a few options for dessert. The food was terrific value as the portions were huge and better quality than many restaurants in the busier areas of Tignes.

I will be recommending Le Dome to my friends as a great value option and will definitely return myself.

Place is clean, owners friendly, the whole experience is very easy-going. The building and furnishing are dated, but the price makes up for it.

We stayed in le Dome in March 2011. It is a small family run hotel, where you feel home immediately. Private (free) parking in front of the hotel. The breakfast is simple but a good start of the day. We had dinner a few times, and a variety of local dishes were served. Nothing fancy, but it tasted very good and was well prepared. In the basement the ski local was located. Sufficient room for your equipment, and some benches to sit down on. Access to the ski local and hotel was through a number lock, so no worries about losing your keys. A 2 minute walk to the bus station were you can take (every 30 minutes) the bus to Tignes Les Lac, or put your skis on and ski down to the cabin lift.
Although the snow quality was not perfect anymore around 5 PM, we were always able to ski down to the hotel.
If you dont mind being away from the crowd, bars and stores, le Dome is a nice hotel, with friendly prices. About 10 minutes away from Les Lac by car.
