My two daughters and myself booked our holiday for the 10th of April for three days. Before we left I phoned the hotel and luckily was told that when we arrive that there would be nobody there so Florine the receptionist emailed me a code to get into the hotel and where to get our room key.
So after an afternoon ski and an evening out for a meal we decide to go and have a drink in the hotel bar. The barman James who is French told us that we were not really allowed to have a drink in the hotel bar as it was the end of the season and he was entertaining VIP guests. Although he did give us one drink on the house. So we asked if we would be able to have a drink after skiing the following day and we were told that he was having a party and we were not welcome. It also transpires that we were the only people in the hotel. In the morning I mentioned this to Florine who was very surprised and imediately phoned her boss...after breakfast James the barman turnes up saying "What's your problem, you have woken me up" at this point my daughter was really upset. He kept saying it's the end of the season...and so I asked why were we allowed to book the hotel if there was nobody els booked in it certainly wasn't our fault. Florine said that her boss had offered us an appartment for compensation or breakfast for free. So we moved to an appartment. The next day Florine came to the room with a bottle of extremely nice wine which apparently was a piece offering from James. He made us feel so unwelcome at this hotel and if it hadn't been for the delightful Florine I'm not sure what we would have done.
Appart from our experience the hotel is very nicely decked out.

Room Tip: Make sure you phone hotel directly before arriving!!!

Great location really close to lifts and on the Main Street.rooms comfortable and clean but small.
Breakfast ok but better to go a short walk and get a better breakfast to set you up for a day of skiing. Ski hire Nxt door to hotel witch is perfect.
Le George wine bar great atmosphere very nice attentive staff and great wine good food definately worth a visit

Very pleasantly surprised with the hotel, service, bar, restaurant and especially the location. Had expected nothing near as much for the money. Would have been 5 stars if not for the paper thin walls.

Centrally located hotel, with great bar and restaurant. Food was excellent; relaxed atmosphere and friendly bar staff. We stayed here for 5 nights and the room was fine - very clean with no frills but met our needs. Excellent location - 2 minutes from the main ski lift, as well as bars and restaurants in the town.

I was rather nicely surprised by the hotel; first, about the overall image: the entrance, lobby, and bar-restaurant corresponded, to all I had hoped for; spatious, well entertained, lively, etc. It correspnded very much to a typical chalet in the South of France. Second, about the room: We had a nice one on the third floor, though the lack of lifts made it difficult sometimes (my dauther had had an accident and could not walk). That said, we may have been lucky. As we were several families, we saw that some rooms were considerably bigger than others, and that some rooms had been recently renewed (think mainly on the first floor).

Downside: dinner at the restaurant and breakfasts were not always great (coffee machine stopped working, breakfast not much variety to offer, and the quality of food occasionally disappointing). Also, it was sometimes too noisy; walls were thin and we could hear everything from the neighbours. Upside: location, staff (well, special mention to Alexandra, who was very helpful and kind every day).

Overall: I would definitively repeat experience.

Room Tip: First floor!

We had a great time at this hotel. Didn't use the restaurant other than for the odd continental breakfast. Despite other review about staff we found they couldn't be more helpful , especially Alexandra. We were lucky to have a recently refurbished modern room. Super location about 200 metres from chavannes lift, next to black bear pub and with a host of excellent patisseries , boulangeries , supermarkets and great restaurants. We will book again for sure.

Just back from a five night stay with four friends. The location couldn't be better. Right next to ski hire. 200 yards from the main slope and cable cars. In the centre of a lovely small town with numerous bars and restaurants.

The ground floor bar and restaurant area is warm, inviting, and modern. We ate in the restaurant one evening and it was excellent.

From the second night we had the two bedroom apartment on the ground floor. This was modern and well appointed.

But we did stay the first night in traditional rooms. These were not modern, a little shabby, and with old fashioned on-suite bathrooms.

All the staff were really nice and accommodating apart from one receptionist who was lacking in her manner. It may have been a language thing but she almost caused an upset. I think that one person alone would stop me going back.

But I'd recommend a stay to anyone else.
