Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights monday - friday and have the following observations :

1. Staff = very friendly, the majority of which spoke English

2. Bedroom = Very very clean, fresh towells everyday, 3 beds in a decent sized room, plenty of closet space, hairdryer & safe & tv in room , no kettle. Toilet is seperate to your bathroom.

3. Ski lockers = At ground level reachable by lift or stairs - you are given a key on check in - very very convinient.

4. 10% discount for guests for ski hire at Chalvin sports.

5. Food - only had breakfast in hotel which was of a very high standard - parma ham, salami , boiled eggs, toast, french bread, cheeses, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad, fresh fruit, cereal, fruit juices, pain au chocolat - tea, coffee & hot chocci . Staff again very friendly.

6. Bar - only had hot chocci late at night which the bartender made up and brought to us in the lounge in front of the log fire - lovely hot chocci with biscuits and chocolate and only 8euros for 2 cups each.

7. Just b4 you reach the hotel - 30 second walk is a lovely restaurant - fantastic food mostly which you cook at your own table, very intimate with candles and log fire.

8 Convinience - ski in and ski out facility - the green run down at the end of the day is pretty dangerous as very narrow and icy with lots of loose rocks, people of a high standard were really struggling - your best bet to get back would be to get the chailift back down which is right next to the hotel of the main Jandri gondola which is about a 5 min walk.

9. Creperie - best one in town is "crepe a go go" - lovely ambience and great flambed crepes.

Overall = a lovely experience at this hotel - it is intimate, individualistic and warm and friendly - we would have no problem recommending this hotel to others and bearing in mind last year we had honeymoon suites at both the Bellagio in Las Vegas and the Banff Springs in Banff then this indeed is a glowing recommendation for this hotel

What a wonderful place to stay. It is small enough to be friendly and intimate, but big enough to give you all you could wish for in an hotel. The food is EXCELLENT and it's great fun guessing what's for dinner if you don't speak French. Great for families and couples alike. Rooms are spacious and cleaned to the highest standard every single day. Staff are extremely friendly and courteous and most speak some English, but we were glad to have to try out our Franglais. All in all a great holiday as we were 30 seconds away from the main street, 3-4 minutes walk from Ski school and main lifts but nowhere near any noise or disruption (not that we saw any at all and we stayed over Christmas).

We would thoroughly recommend this hotel although our 16 year old daughter felt it was a bit quiet. Saying that, she loved the food and would have preferred her own room but we booked the package and she had to share with us - although the bunkbeds for 'children' were offset from the main part of the bedroom.

The resort itself is wonderful. This was my first time ski-ing and, despite a knee injury, I would definately go back to the same place.

Have just returned from Les Deux Alpes and cannot speak highly enough of Le Souleil'Or. My friend and I booked a Ryanair flight to Grenoble and headed for the snow. We hired a car and took approx 1hour 45mins to reach Les Deux Alpes. I had read a review on Trip Advisor before I left and turned up at reception to book in for 4 nights.
We were given a card for a local ski hire shop from the hotel which got us 10% discount on our hire gear. Remember you need a photo for your ski pass. The lockers downstairs are a great help for ski storage with easy access outside. 50 metres away is a tow taking you up to the higher slopes.
The highlight of our visit after the skiing was the dinner each night, all 4 nights it was memorable. Although no choice on the menu, the staff always made sure you were happy with each course. I have eaten in many top restaurants at home and have to rate these dinners at 3 Rosette / 1 Michelin Star standard. Breakfasts were very pleasant and interesting.
A Hotel not to be missed !

We stayed at the hotel Souleil ‘Or for 7 nights in March 2006, booked directly with the hotel.

The hotel was very well managed and the service by all staff was very polite and professional.

The excellent evening meals were 4 or 5 courses from a set menu (with an occasional buffet course) and breakfast was a well presented buffet.

The public areas, reception, lounge, bar and restaurant were all clean and well maintained.

Our 3 bedded room had 2 single beds in the main bedroom area, a separate single bed in the entrance to the room, TV and a south facing balcony. There was enough room and storage space for 3 people. Although simply furnished, the room was very clean, comfortable and the bathroom seems to have been recently refurbished.

Ski lockers were provided on the ground floor.

The hotel is located at the foot of the ski slopes and whilst we were there, it was possible to ski back to the hotel.

There is a chair lift and drag lift close to the hotel (just behind the car park) giving immediate access to the ski area.

Although the hotel web site shows an ESF ski school meeting place close to the hotel, during 2006, this only appeared to be for lessons in French and the ESF ski school meeting place for lessons in English was near the Jandri Express lift, about 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

We booked our lift passes on line through the tourist office web site and these were delivered to the hotel before we arrived. I booked my daughters ski lessons on the ESF web site and the combined 6 day lessons and 6 day lift pass package was cheaper than the lessons and lift pass separately. We skied for 7 days, so I just bought her a separate day ticket on the last day.

To summarise, a great hotel in an excellent location for skiing.
