Spent 7 nights at the hotel La Vallee Blanche in Alpe D'huez, it is a fairly typical French ski resort hotel, the main problem is it is run by a large company and consequently you loose out on the personal touch and pride of a privately owned hotel.
The creche staff and facilities are excellent, with long hours available and an evening of baby monitoring in a one week stay, good quality baby monitors and bottle warmers are available to hire.
The hotel also has a small but new looking sauna and massage facility available, both are good.
The food is ok and there is a lot of it, the service is fast and friendly.
On the downside the hotel is very, very noisy up until about 1am and you can hear everything that is going on in surrounding rooms and corridors. Be warned if you go with children that making an advance request for a family room makes no difference, i was put in the closest room to the bar which was very noisy.
All in all a fairly average hotel with good and bad points, don't choose it if you want luxury or peaceful evenings, and i would advise against it if you are travelling in a group without children as you would feel like you are in a creche 24 hours a day.
The staff can appear to be a bit vacant, but then most of them are 20 years old and enjoying their winter.
