Very cheap and cheerful, avoid unless nowhere else to stay, rooms are tiny, the beds and bathroom are even smaller, ok for a one night stay but avoid if you can..., free car parking, Hotel is right next to the airport runway, but the aircraft noise is not a problem..

Room Tip: is there one

We stayed here as a base for visiting Geneva and Montreux and various other locations in the area. It is very basic, with just a bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a pod bathroom with a shower in it. It is desperately in need of decorating, and although not filthy, it could do with new carpets. Breakfast is extra (we didn't have it but it looked nice in the breakfast room), and you don't get a hairdryer or tea/coffee making facilities. Reception is closed at night so there is no one to speak to if you need to. However, it does have a sister hotel which is literally round the corner and open all night. The smoke alarms are linked to the main fire alarm and someone was obviously smoking in a room because the fire alarm went off one night!
So why the very good rating? The staff were lovely. It took 5 minutes to check in. The room we had was at the back, upstairs, and was very quiet, despite right next to the landing strip of the airport. It was 5 minutes to get to the hotel from the airport, and the stops from and to are right outside the hotel. The towels and sheets were very clean, the water was hot and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. The maids came in and replaced everything and tidied up every day. It is in Ferney Voltaire, which is a lovely little town and the center is about a 10 minute walk away. Ferney has lovely bars and restaurants and a great market on Saturdays. The F bus goes straight to Geneva from outside the hotel and if you get the all day ticket, it cost 6.8 Euros (or 8 chf - remember, this hotel is in France so you need Euros and Swiss francs if you are popping over to Geneva and back a lot. ) It only takes about 10 minutes to get to Geneva as well. At weekends, the travel tickets are 2 for 1, and they all cover all buses, trams, trains and water taxis.
Its a great base for going out sightseeing every day, and there are three supermarkets (with VERY cheap, nice wine for sale!) within a 5-10 minute walk. If you want to sit in a hotel room all day, its not for you. If you use it as a base for a decent night's sleep and a hot shower in a friendly environment, its for you.

Room Tip: Try to get one upstairs at the back.

First this place is in FRANCE not Geneva. It is VERY basic, over priced (65 Euro), tired and not in the least inviting but it is clean and quiet.
Its hard to find anyone who seemed to know how to get there from Geneva airport and even the bus drivers sent me on two buses unnecessarily. Luckily I had left my luggage in a locker at geneva airport but would have been pissed if I had lugged it around. Having said that its actually a 10 minute ride on the Y bus.
It is functional but no extras and the surrounding area is not even pleasant - unless you just want a nites sleep or yr desperate try something else.

Contrary to its misleading name, the Hotel Stars Geneva Airport is not located in Geneva, but on the other side of the city, in France, across the border. Truth be told, it is very close to Geneva Airport, which you can reach by the bus named Y. And the border patrol didn't much interfere with us while traveling, but still, a hotel's location is an important factor when considering where to stay.

Plus, you don't benefit from the free public transport card, available at every hotel in Geneva, so you might ending up spending the money you saved at the accommodation, on buses instead.

Other than that it's an OK hotel, they clean your room every day, it is small, but what would you expect at those prices. Careful with the water, though, it can turn really hot in a very short time. It is hot enough to make tea with, so if you're on the budget...

The town is pretty and small, but the Voltaire museum can only be visited from April to October. There are a few supermarkets close by, but we haven't tried out any restaurants near by.

Have a nice stay.

for 70 EUR for the night I wasn't expecting luxury but equally this is below average. the reception area reminds you of a youth hostel, there is no lift if your room is on one of the higher floors. The room is sparce but functional, the bed was clean but the mattress very thin so not particularly comfortable. The bathroom is a plastic cocoon that is put in the corner of the room and so is hardly a wonder to behold and the toilet was rubbish. There is nothing in the immediate area and so had to walk 10 mins to a pizzeria for food in the evening.
That said, it wasn't noisy, the staff were helpful and you could get a bus (1 per hour) to or from the airport. it was a place to crash while I waited for my plane but nothing more.

Rooms are tiny - virtually no light (3 small wall mounted reading lamps - as curtains that cannot be drawn away from windows.)
Bathroom had water constantly running across the floor - upon flushing the toilet it became obvious that the water came from said toilet - though I was unable to determine if it was "new" or "used" toilet water...........
Undecipherable stains on the threadbare carpet - best advice keep shoes on at all times.
Heating did not work in room.
Bed was good though - very comfortable in fact.

Breakfast one day was okish, next day basically not existent.

Location is great for the airport - and plane spotting in nearby park.

Parking is free - a definite plus seeing what other hotels in the area charge for parking.

Hotel happy to call for taxi - which turned out to be mate of receptionists Limo service - price was ok and quality superb.

was booked into this hotel but upon arrival I read the [very easily noticeable] sign on the door to go to the Median review down the street, There is also a giant sign on the side of stars advertising the median (see picture).

at the Median I was told that I would be staying there owing to "reparations", I hope this was just a language problem and not some kink of political statement. Please see my review on the hotel Median if you think it would help you.
