“Good clean hotel with easy access to snow fields”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2012

If u can sleep through anything then no problems. If u can't - then request not to be on the entry - ground floor level. The rooms might be bigger but you get to hear them tidy up the bar area at night and making coffees in the morning. You get to listen to anyone walking through the foyer and high heels make a great tap tap tap when all else is quiet. Then there is the conversations of anyone waiting for a lift....
But the rest of the hotel, the other levels are fine. Carpet down the hallways so you the noises are muffled. Good clean rooms and bathrooms. Beds are comfortable.
Dinner can be found anywhere in town so you are not restricted to their menu.
If you don't want to walk up to the cable car in your boots, carrying your skis then just rent a locker and remove the hassle.

Room Tip: Not on entry level.....

Inexpensive and you feel it every moment.

Internet ONLY works in at the reception... sometimes

Staff are pleasant but inattentive, (gives you a 'please don't bother us kind of a feeling'),

Shower may be new but is falling apart, think you must hold the shower head up to keep it from falling down.

Ski room is in the basement and is cold and very humid... perfect for warming up your ski boots.

It is fairly clean and if you figure out how to work the heater your room can even be warm.

The hotel was recently refurbished to a high standard. The rooms are very clean and tidy but some people may think they are slightly on the small side. The bathroom consists of a slide door pretty much right next to the bed so you need to be quite comfortable with the person you are sharing a room with.
The main negative of the hotel is the noise, as has been mentioned in a previous review. The walls between the rooms are very thin and you can hear people walking above you and people talking next to you! When the toilet flushes in the room above the water runs down the pipes through your room. If you are an early riser and go to bed after 10pm then you should miss all the noise!
The staff are all very friendly and helpful and will go out of their way to assist you.
Another great positive was the use of free WIFI.
The breakfast was lovely. A great choice of different foods and drinks. We had dinner twice at the hotel and again we were very impressed with it. A three course meal for €23 and 'restaurant quality' food- great!
There are also other places to eat in the village of Brides. The Casino does a fantastic 3 course meal for €21.
The hotel is located a 5 minute walk to the Olympic Gondola which takes you up to the main ski resort of Meribel. This Gondola ride takes 25 minutes but when you are returning to Brides you can ski part way down and then catch the Gondola.
Overall a lovely hotel which is great value for money. We would stay here again but just take ear plugs next time!

Room Tip: The top floor may be a little quieter

This hotel is nice to stay for one night while you're passing on to one of the villages in Les Trois Vallees. I wouldn't recommend to stay here for a week on your ski trip, because it is not on the piste. Go to Les Menuires (or something similar) instead.

The hotel itself is very modern on the inside, it looks like it has been updated recently. The breakfast buffet is very nice as well.

Trust me – I’m the first to complain about bad hotel experiences but this time – I believe a nice word of recommendation is in order.

This hotel is not perfect (!) but if it was, 2 starts would be inappropriate. So starting off with the bad things:

- The rooms are really small – but it’s an old building and I guess it’s not easy to change that.
- The internet experience is awful (It seems like we are sharing a dialup connection between 30 rooms)

But there are many more positives:

- The hotel is spotless. Besides the always present issue of shower heads wanting to turn down – I could not fault the room
- The staff are very attentive and courteous. I don’t like getting up early and after the first day - the cleaners figured that out, never knocked again and just did the room in the afternoon.
- The food is delicious: I enjoyed “raclette” for the first time and the quality of the food and service was fantastic
- (For Skiing) the location is superb – the hotel is in the centre for the village and whilst there isn’t a lot happening there – whatever is happening you are next door to it. You are about 200 meters from the ski lift which in 30 minutes takes you to Meribell . I never (in a week) felt the need to use any cabs or busses.

Would I come back? Without hesitation – but given the size of my room – probably only if I travelled on my own but it’s very nice and great value for money.

And btw – there is a wonderful coffee shop across the road which servers delicious French pastries etc. So when you decide to have a lie in – that’s your best bet (except for Tuesdays when they are closed)
