Stayed at the hotel Verseau with Ski Weekends, transfer from Geneva 2hrs, the hotel was o.k but a bit dated (but who cares on a short ski trip) the staff were friendly and eager to help, the food was very good. Pre booked lift passes with ski weekends, booked ski hire on line with Ski Set at their Montagne 1 shop, which is situated under the Olympe gondola which takes you up to the centre of Meribel, 20 mins. Also booked a locker at the shop for skis and boots, Got a lift from the staff in the mornings to the gondola, this made for a hassle free, pre ski routine! At the end of the day, 5pm last lift, drop of skis and boots at ski set and the town is a short walk (2mins). About four bars and a couple of restaurants in the town. Ski weekends do run a shuttle back but if you want a couple of drinks the hotel is only another 3 mins walk from the centre of town.
If you're going skiing, its a great, cheap way to do it, especially early season
