“What a charming place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Just a beautiful, very well kept old farmhouse! Just driving up to it is an experience in it's own!

We showed up a few hrs early, and my wife was really not feeling too good. Laurent said that our room was ready, and that we could occupy it immediately, so, my wife got to rest for a few hrs, while I discovered this beautiful town!

The house is not more than 3 minutes on foot to the middle of town, and the view from our room (Les Tilleuls) was breathtaking!

Room Tip: I don't know about the other rooms, but, the view from Les Tilleuls was bordering on perfection!

We stayed 3 nights at Le tilleuls and cannot say enough good things about our stay. First of all, Anne and Laurent are the most thoughtful, wonderful hosts of our 2 week stay in France. The fact that the house and grounds had been in Anne's family for generations was very interesting and added to the appeal. Anne has a real touch with Provencial decorating as the room was lovely and the bathroom clean and spacious. It's location is ideal, a combination of a county feel and yet being within walking distance of the city. The chairs in the garden are the perfect touch for a bottle of wine, cheese and bread. Fellow travelers were very friendly and the atmosphere of the gite fostered a camaraderie among the guest. The homemade fig jam for breakfast is a must try! Anne provided a wealth of information about the area including a very good map that Laurent composed and will allow you to borrow. Do not miss the market in Vaison on Tuesday morning....it is incredible. The Les tilleuls is a wonderful place to stay in a lovely part of France.

Nice people, adequate English. Easy walk to sights and good restaurants. Highly recommend. The Roman ruins museum just behind the visitor information center is well worth a visit. They have a short video in French and then English about the Roman villa on the site that really helps visualize the home and the times. 8 Euros for adults to the site. There is also a Moroccan restaurant in the town, walking distance called The a la Menthe that is exceptional and a good choice for lunch or dinner. The B&B has no TV or room phone but does have Wi-Fi.

Vaison is a fascinating place to stay and Les Tilleuls is a great base to explore it from. The rooms are clean and spacious and breakfasts are delicious with home made jams, croissants and orange juice. Anne and Laurent are kind and thoughtful hosts who provide guests with lots of useful information. The garden and its views add to the pleasure of the stay. Parking is easy and the very short walk to the shops and restaurants takes you past the smaller of the two Roman sites in Vaison. The restaurants recommended were all very welcoming and provided good menus. Ringo, the dog, is a real character who adds to the fun. All in all a great place to stay and very reasonably priced.

A beautiful, quiet location within 5-10 minutes walk of Vaison-la-Romaine's many shops and restaurants. Our room was spacious, comfortable and very clean, with views of Mont Ventoux, the cathédrale and the Haute Ville. The owners, M and Mme Viau were charming, helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the sun was an added treat! This is an excellent central location for walking and cycling in the Dentelles de Montmirail. An ideal stop-over or a wonderful place to stay for a few days to unwind. We would definitely stay here again!

Wow. Great location, great room, great host (including dog), great breakfast. Easy enough to find, ample parking, get walking distance to town. Excellent restaurant recommendation. Rooms were spacious, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast in the sun on the patio a holiday dream. Absolutely stay here!

We spend 4 nights in the family room of this charming B&B, which is located ideally just near the city center. Restaurants are all within walking distance. Warm welcome by Laurent, who proposed a selection of restaurants downtown. Must say; we were not disappointed. One of them, "La Lyriste", we even went twice!. As for the B&B: spacious family room: 2 seperate bedrooms with a bathroom in between. All rooms equipped with central air condinioning system, which worked out perfectly. Free usage of the breakfast room and all that's in it for the guests. Breakfast itself is taken outside under the trees: what a way to start your day...
Big thanks to Ann & Laurent for a splendid stay!
