“"a hidden paradise"”

My husband and I recently stayed at "La Garrigue" in Cassis, and just loved our experience!
The new owners Jennifer and husband Tarek (I think that's how it's spelled!) were welcoming and accommodating. Upon arrival we were initially going to stay in the upstairs room with low ceilings, but because of my husbands height (6.3) it would have been close to impossible. Jennifer quickly got us into a new room much more fitting for my tall man. I too was happy with the more spacious room. The breakfast served daily was wonderful - your typical French fare - with baguette, croissants, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, tea/coffee and juice. The pool area was quiet and relaxing with breathtaking views of the canyons below. Jennifer was also great to give recommendations for restaurants in town, maps of the calanques etc. Cassis in itself was stunning, also with one of the best markets I have ever experienced.
One note though, you need to bring your own towels for the pool/beach, which was a bit of a surprise to me. This was overall a great place and we look forward to returning in the future!

A perfect place to stay with very comfortable Provençale rooms that are nicely furnished and a great pool. The owners, Who have recently taken over, are very welcoming and helpful, excellent friendly hosts. Breakfast is taken in the lovely garden With fresh breads, croissants, fruit etc. The walk down the hill into town is pleasant with views of the port as you go. Cassis is a very picturesque port/harbour with the castle and cliffs providing a spectacular backdrop. There is lots going on and plenty of good eating places and nice shops. The main beach is lovely but we found that Plage de Bestouan, just a short walk from the port, was the best. If you want a relaxing holiday cassis offers enough to keep you occupied without the need to go elsewhere but if you have a car or are able to use the local transport Aix en Provence (especially on market day) and the medieval village of Castellet are definitely worth a visit. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return to Cassis and La Garrigue.

The lovely hostess Sylvie was very friendly and gave us several tips. The room was very cosy with a beautiful, wide view! The B&B is on top of a hill in Cassis, but within a view minutes you are in the centre. We would definitely recommend this B&B!

Lovely little B&B with quaint Provençale-style rooms, a magnificent view of the arid hills, a swimming pool and deck chairs in the garden. Great breakfast in the pretty courtyard. Practical 10-15 min walk into the lovely town of Cassis (although the walk back uphill can be painful in the heat :-). Quiet residential secured area. Parking available in this area just outside the B&B. The owners are lovely, warm and welcoming, and very helpful in their recommendations of what to do in the area.

Room Tip: Lovely rooms downstairs, the upstairs ones are quite warm. No A/C.

After last visiting Cassis over 20 years ago I returned and stayed at La Garrigue based on tripadvisor reviews which proved extremely accurate. The property is in a quiet residential area and as already described is a good 15 minute walk downhill into the old town and port. Even out of season (we travelled in Sept) parking is a nightmare in town so walking and leaving the car at La Garrigue is the best option. We managed it ok twice a day but you do need to either like walking or be relatively fit. The property is charming with some delightful touches. Sylvie is a wonderful host and the lovely pool and garden area is a bonus. We stayed in room La Violette which looks on the web site as if it has its own outside sitting area but it doesn't. This is another rooms area. No air conditioning in room just a fan which could be issue in height of summer but not a problem in off season. All rooms are very individual but are nicely decorated and furnished. Communal breakfast around a large table was a jolly affair each morning with fresh bread, croissants and home made jam. The town of Cassis is a delight with the imposing chateau overlooking the port, a busy atmosphere, lovely beach and the nearby calanques are well worth a visit. Cassis is quite an expensive place to stay but I would recommend staying here as it is affordable and offers decent accommodation and a caring host. But if you want to explore Cassis be prepared for those walks up and downhill!

Cassis is a pretty little harbour town with a lovely beach and full of seafront restaurants. We stayed here for a couple of nights at the beginning of August and just loved our quaint but chic room. It is at the top of the town but benefits from having parking available. Impossible anywhere in Cassis to park during August so this was a bonus, and we walked up and down during the day and evening. Great way to walk off excess food and lovely pool waiting to cool us down. Continental breakfast served outside on terrace each morning and even accommodated a gluten free for me. Take walking shoes as there are some lovely little coves along the coast path, but you do need the right footwear. The temp was in the late 30's so really hot but no air conditioning. A fan was provided but still hard to sleep at night, so this was the only reason I did not give it a 5 rating. I would recommend it to anyone for the lovely relaxing stay, chilling pool area, character room and a hands on owner.

The first thing to mention is that Cassis is at the bottom of a very steep hill and this B&b is at the top, so you will either need a car or a lot of energy!

The house itself is lovely, with a delightful setting and a lovely pool overlooking a valley. The rooms are nice and clean and a good size. Fans are provided for hot weather. Sylvie is a lovely host and will provide you with a great breakfast every day as well as numerous suggestions of where to eat and what to do.

We had a very relaxing 5 days here and would love to return someday. It's great!
