We dined on a Wednesday at this restaurant. It is right on the harbor and very popular with locals so bookings are essential. They turned away tables all night. We arrived on opening at 7:30pm and they only had one table unbooked which we secured. More luck than planning.
Fine French Provencal/Cote de Azure dining specializing in fresh seafood. Expertly run. Food was magnificent but Service was the highlight. Attentive, personal, and genuine.
Whilst 100% full the owner Chris chatted to us as he had an affection for Australia and hence Aussies but here is the bit - I ordered the Bouillabaisse being the house specialty which takes 30mins and only comes for two. I really wanted authentic experience so Wife also ordered but not being a fish fan left 90% untouched. So as not to offend I ate 50% of her plate but Chris noticed her not eating and asked why? We explained and apologized where HE apologized as “in my house, single orders are ok”.
He immediately instructed chef to prepare delicious vego dish for wife and then, DID NOT CHARGE us for her Bouillabaisse, despite me eating it. This was a 30EU aka $45AUD main he had every right to charge for. Child Menu at 9EU excellent value. Desert was pistachio fig tarte with fresh cream and vanilla bean ice-cream.
Note: as in all France, be courteous and wait your turn, as Chris also (correctly) ejected another Aussie who demanded service from the waiter the moment he arrived despite the place being obviously full and waiters serving others ahead of his new party. Chris is proud and has every right to be. An excellent restaurant.
