“Good for a 2 star”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2011

Stayed over for one night in a double room facing away from the sea. The room was very clean, the bedding crisp and fresh and the bed, although a little firm for my liking, quite comfortable. The bathroom was quite modern, with a very powerful shower.

In terms of location, it is just across the road from the sandy beach, and a short walk to some local eateries.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. There is plenty of free parking all around the building.

Pros: On the beach, clean, coffee making facilities, microwave, friendly staff.
Cons: Laminate flooring probably done by a beginner, some fittings need refixing, our toilet was too high off the ground

All in all quite a good place to put your head down for the night.

Stayed in a room for four with a side sea view where you can see the beach and the ferries coming into port. Two small bunk beds as you entered the room (hall) and standard double in the main room.
Decent restaurant right next door with good variety menu.
Room was clean but basic, unfortunately had broken lamp, broken towel rail, plastic cups for tea/coffee...Check in was easy and quick, staff were pleasant.
Had breakfast in the hotel which was the usual, rolls, yoghurt, ham, cheese etc. Not bad choice/range.
Would stay again just for convenience to ferry port 5/10 mins away.

Stayed here for a one-night stop-over after arriving in France on the Shuttle. The area is really tacky, although children would love the sandy beach. The hotel is really basic, apart from the tea/coffee making facilities - unusual on the continent. Everything else drab abd functional. Breakfast was fairly basic too, and the receptionist tried to charge us twice - the price vis Booking.com was inclusive, although he ignored that. Got the money back in the end, but felt as though he had tried it on! Wouldn't go back unless there was really no alternative.

The hotel is conveniently situated for both the Channel Tunnel or cross-channel ferries. We had stayed here previously but not for a number of years. The hotel is in a good, mainly residential, location beside the beach and easy to find. There is plenty of free parking. We had booked a double room for 75€ but were allocated a triple. The 3rd bed was situated just inside the door to our room, next to the en-suite shower/WC. The main room had a double-bed, TV, corner kitchen with kettle, microwave and fridge. The decor was a little tired but the whole place was clean and more than adequate for our overnight stay. There is a restaurant in the hotel and in the one adjacent. We've never used these, preferring to walk 5-10 minutes along the promenade where there are several basic steak-frites/moules-frites bars/restaurants. We didn't use the wifi or have the breakfast (7.5€). Staff were friendly with efficient check-in/out.

Just a one night stop was enough basic rooms that didn't have much character. Only used for the ferry that is a short drive away. However the restaurant attached was fantastic and if the hotel had the same standard it would be great.

The room slept 4 of us comfortably and we even had a measure of privacy as the wardrobe door can be closed across to separate the 2 sleeping areas. Literally a stones throw from the beach and a nice bar/restaurant. Little kitchen provided with fridge. The only negative was that the free wi-fi couldn't be accessed, even with the help of the staff. Easy walking distance into town. Breakfast was good, with more selection than the usual continental breakfast, and they were lenient with the pricing for our picky teenage children. Would definitely recommend

Facilities included microwave, hob and fridge and extra bunk beds for children, good sitting area to eat and separate toilet and bathroom (en suite). We had sea view on 2nd floor but didn't find a lift. The hotel is almost on the beach with plenty of lively activities for kids nearby. Hotel next door provided dinner which was not exceptional and service was very slow. Breakfast was ok, self service and no cooked food. Would stay here again for short visit or overnight stop.
