“Good Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2013

Hotel was easily located. 5 minutes drive from centre of Calais. 20 minutes walking. the hotel had it own car park and was free
front desk staff very helpfully and friendly and happy to give advise.
Finding food was easy as there was pizza delivery, Macdonald almost opposite, or restaurants located centrally. there was a microwave in the reception area as well as a food and drink machine.
The room was surprising big in size, as was the bathroom and toilet. the shower was very powerfully, handy desk. We had a family room, which had a queen size bed with double bunk beds, which was very comfortable. TV had a good selection of stations in English.
breakfast next morning was also a good surprise as it was only £5.90 for buffet style with a good selection of everything including scramble eggs.

Room Tip: second floor rooms were quieter than the ground floor.

We stayed here on a Thursday night at the start of our journey, very handy from the port, easy to find. Easy check in, we were given a room at the back of the hotel, room very comfy and clean. Had a great night's sleep.Breakfast was excellent.
However stopped here 2 weeks later on a Saturday evening on our return journey and didn't sleep a wink. We had a room at the front this time, It was very hot so needed windows open as there was no air conditioning, the noise from the traffic was loud and the noise from the night club over the road was awful, shouting, police sirens etc.

Room Tip: Request a room at the back of the hotel, just in case the night club is open.

We use this chain a lot, it is always clean and well placed for the motorway. This hotel is one of this chains older hotels ,it had no air conditioning so maybe, for some people it would be a problem. The bed was huge ,sparkling white bed linen and towels .

have stayed in this hotel a few times very easy to find and within easy reach of euro tunnel and Calais port. staff are very friendly and helpfull, the rooms are more than adequate for an overnight stay and are always very clean and tidy. breakfast isn't to expensive, a little over 5 euros so can't complain. got a nice restaurant ( boomerang ) just a 2 minute walk away or a mc'donalds opposite. there are drink and snack vending machines in lobby if you need them. if you flick through the channels on the tv you can get English tv so you don't have to miss coronation st. or eastenders. we paid 45 euros a night but out of season you will pay 39 euros. all in all a nice clean tidy place with friendly staff remember that this is a budget hotel and not the ritz so you get what you pay for so don't expect champagne luxury for lemonade money.

We tried this chain as an alternative to ibis budget. Although it is further from the tunnel it takes the same amount of time to get there because the route ismore straight forward. Security guards on the doors at night is a little worrying, but at 4.30am we found out why they may be needed. Very noisy clubbers streamed past the hotel, still having great time and trying to get the rest of Calais to join in! There was no air con in the room so needed the windows open, if you want to sleep try to get a room at the back of the hotel. In addition, despite the advertised free wifi we had no luck in loging in. So that was another disappointment. However, cheap, basic and clean and very easy to get to transport links.

Within 5 minutes of the Eurotunnel terminal, I always stop over in Calais before my continental trips. I prefer the B&B hotel over the Accor group hotels of similar price and quality, as you can choose the type of bed layout you want. When travelling with a friend, you can get a twin bed room - no hard bunk beds to struggle with!
Breakfast also includes bacon, eggs and croissants, not just bread and jam.

The room has a toilet and shower integral, so you can turn up at any time of day or night, check in with a booking reference outside if necessary, and get straight in.

There is a McD's on the road opposite for fast food, but if you want a decent meal you will have to get back in the car. Head for the old town square for a good choice of restaurants and some great seafood.

Next morning, setting off after a good breakfast is easy, as the motorway is 500 metres away and you are on your way nice and refreshed.

Room Tip: Check the options online to pick the bed layout required. You can even get a room for 2 adults and 2...

Well located close to the motorway & port or Eurotunnel. One of the best B&B hotels we've used. Cheap and with good parking. MacDonalds is close by but due to the location not the usual Buffalo Grill type restaurants so you need to drive to dinner. The shower room looks as though the hotel was previously branded as somehting else? The bed seemed larger than in other B&B's & was very comforable. The room was clean and the welcome very good. Overall one to use again if only for a stop over.
