“A hidden Gem in Calais.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 7, 2013 via mobile

Just loved the atmosphere of this place, the room was large, and well set out. Breakfast was nice and tasty. The owner, she was lovely. She hardly spoke any English or us any French but her smile and happy mannerism allowed us to communicate. This would be the first place we would stay at here, if and when we find ourselves in Calais again.

We visit Calais quite often either for a weekend or on the way back from another European destination. Usually we stay at one of the chain hotels, but we decided this time to stay somewhere with more character. We chose Nuit d'ailleurs as it looked and sounded interesting. Indeed it was! It is beautiful. We stayed in the Agadir room and it has the 'wow' factor. Sandrine, the owner has made her lovely B and B a fabulous experience. The room is huge and has cosy areas to sit and to have a drink as well as the large bed area and bathroom. We loved the Moroccan theme, music, furniture and fragrance. It is very clean and luxurious, we didn't want to leave to catch our ferry home. The B and B is well placed, we parked outside it on the street and it is 5 minutes walk from La Place at the centre of Calais, it is 5 minutes to the ferry port. I won't stay anywhere else in Calais now. It was a 5 * experience which finished our holiday off with another wonderful memory!

We stayed for one night in the Bombay suite which was lovely. There is lots of space including a bedroom, living room and bathroom with seperate WC. The bed was lovely and comfy and we crashed out and didn't wake up until the alarm went off. The bathroom is spacious with a corner bath but my only complaint is that I like a proper shower rather than sitting in the bath - I do realise however that this is common to many french hotels unless you use the "chain" ones. Breakfast was nice; croissants, bread, yoghurts, jams etc with lots of orange juice.
We didn't spend much time in the hotel but I would recommend it for being friendly nd different - sometimes it's nice to stay somewhere unusual rather than in a standard room. We parked right outside the hotel and it's only a few minutes walk to the main restaurant/bar area.

Stopped off at the hotel for one night as it was the most reasonably priced within Calais. The hotel itself is a delight, something different from the bland, run of the mill hotels within port towns. We stayed in the Peking room which was tastefully decorated, comfortable, and generally great for a relaxing stay. The room was extremely spacious and the bathroom was a delight with the corner bath and relaxation room on the mezzanine level. The owner of the hotel was extremely friendly and breakfast was perfect for us, served by the owner to add a more personal touch to the whole experience. On the whole the hotel was great.

The four rooms have a different theme. I stayed in the Marroko suite.
Great atmosphere, very friendly owners and a great breakfast.
Surely want to go back there!

Very well placed for the Ferry - 3 minutes - great welcome from the owner who lives at the back. We had the Agadir room - a delight and the most comfortable bed I've slept in in France! Spacious, quirky and clean & great breakfast all included - would recommend to anyone and will definitely stay again if the need arises. Some good restaurants locally too.

I spent here 1 night with my girlfriend in August. It was the first theme I stayed at a theme hotel in Calais and I'm impressed. There are 4 rooms in this lovely B&B and we stayed in room Bombay. A beautiful room that stayed true to its roots in every details: the paintings, the candles, the decoration, the music ... the atmosphere was perfect. The hostess, Sandrine, was very friendly. The room was clean and top notch. There was a kettle to put on tea and in the morning, a delicious breakfast was served in our room (upon request). I can recommend this B&B to anyone.
