“A lovely hotel close to the cathedral. A little gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

A small hotel with a wonderful host. The room was small and no lift, but he kindly carried the luggage to the room. The hotel is located close to the railway station, and the beautiful cathedral, what a find and a magnificent light show in the evening not to be missed. The hotel is in within walking distance to the floating gardens and town centre. A really nice breakfast room and nice breakfast.

Right at the back of the most beautiful cathedral in France: Amiens. In walking distance of the restaurants, canal houses, (small venice, watergardens and free parking. A nice old hotel with loads of atmosphere, Beautiful paintings and colors on the wall. Friendly staff. fair breakfast: typical French. Every room has its own decoration and colours. 3 floors with surprisingly turning stairs (no elevator).

Room Tip: We stayed in two rooms; 6 is ok, Room 9 is very small under the rooftop, but it has everything you...

Amiens is great. The accommodation is basic, but the local is perfect, Notre Dame is on the door step, the city centre and the river are both a short walk. As my friend kindly reminded me, don’t complain about lugging your luggage up 2 flights of stairs you are in France. The rooms at the front have a great view but can be a little noisy, quieter at the back but you can’t see the street and Notre dame from your window, it is a matter of choice. Ample on street parking at a low cost, felt safe and secure.

A good basic, clean, little hotel. Terrific location to Amiens cathedral and walking distance to everything. The rooms are very clean and the bonus is the price...the cheapest in all our travels in France & Italy!!

This hotel is a great find as it is centrally located and at a brilliant price. As a family we booked 2 rooms in April for 4 nights for the ANZAC commemorations For value and location we highly recommend this hotel.

The rooms are small and basic but clean and the staff are very helpful. Everything you need is within walking distance and there is secure underground parking nearby for around 8 Euros a day.

We chose not to have the breakfast option as we wanted to explore more of the local cafes.

Normally we stay in pretty good hotels but this little cheap find was fantastic!!! We a family of 4 stayed in the blue room - room 5 up 2 flights of creaky stairs. 2 double comfortable beds in a small family run hotel in great location on side street. Stayed 3 nights and had a wonderful sleep. Owner is English speaking, very helpful - no charges for laundry and even bought it up to our room. Went out of his way to help when he could and even let us take the power adaptor with us at no charge that he had lent us. Shower is small but was not a problem for us- water hot! Wifi a little sketchy but was not a concern for us. Room is simple, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in quaint little front room and done so well and very generous. Breads, jams, yogurt and fruit. Would we stay her again absolutely !!!!!

Room Tip: Blue room has 2 double beds and room faces the street with large opening window. Would not recomme...

We stayed for only one night in Amiens to see the Cathedral and selected the Hotel Victor Hugo because it was highly recommended by Trip Advisor. It was unbelievably reasonable and was just a short walk to the cathedral (a world heritage site). We had the front room and thought there was a great deal of street noise. We did not notice til the following morning as we exited that our window was open at the very top. Obviously, we would have had a quieter night with the window closed. The hosts were very helpful with directions and for use of wifi.
