“Good for a place to rest your head”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 17, 2014

This hotel is clean, reasonably priced and the staff are friendly. However, this is the smallest room I have ever stayed in. Perfect to sleep in only but no room to swing a cat. You actually have to turn sideways to get around the bed etc. Didn't eat in restaurant or use other services.

This is and old large building but interior of hotel is fine. Parking outside to drop of bags very difficult. suggest you go to underground car park when you arrive. Bit of a trip from car park to hotel as there is no lift or direct access to the hotel. This was the only negative aspect of our three night stay at this hotel. Reception was efficient and we were quickly installed in our room. This was fairly small but contained all normal facilities. Room was too warm for us and we ended up turning the air conditioning off to reduce temperature and annoying noise at night when it cuts in and out. Free Wi-Fi was included. Xmas market was within easy walking distance of the hotel and we also drove into Arras to visit the market there. It was about a 90 minute drive.
Breakfast was usual Ibis buffet. Don`t expect anything cooked but good mix of cereals, breads, cheeses, pastries, fruit, yogurt and cake. We only had one evening meal in hotel which was fine. Due to location there are plenty of other restaurants/brasseries to try.

Room Tip: Lower floor would avoid some stairs.

Stayed here with a party of 48 for a Christmas Market trip. The hotel was comfortable and represented value for money. It is well located within walking distance of the city centre and major attractions of the area. If travelling by car you would be able to visit other attractions too far to visit by public transport.
The centre has a host of restaurants and "The Forum" is recommended. A walk down to the canal area passing the cathedral is well worth while with a host of restaurants that looked to be very good.
Would recommend the Ibis for its value for money and location. Bar staff had trouble finding the keys to serve drinks - rather faulty towers!! But alls well that ends well.
Remember if the hotel cannot solve the problem within 15 minutes your stay could be free!
Would use this hotel again. Value for money - not a super class hotel. You get what you pay for!
