“Handy for the Cathedral”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2012

A very pleasant bistro between the Cathedral and the river quarter. Food is fine and prices reasonable. The little square buzzes with students drinking in the open air cafe bars aroundabouts. A nice place to spend an evening.

“The worst meal of our holiday”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

There is an old saying; "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything", but honestly this was the worst dining out experience of our 25 day European holiday. After a fabulous meal at another Amiens restaurant the previous night we thought we would experience another high rating Amiens restaurant. We had just completed a long day touring the WW1 memorials and called in on the chance of a table without a booking. A table was found between the bar and the dessert refridgerator, hardly enough room to squeeze into our chairs. Waiter service was prompt and friendly ( apart from the lady of the house who stood frowning at us from behind the bar for the entire meal). We both ordered a chicken dish. The meal arrived and we discovered under a luke warm cheese sauce a fillet of cold chicken, yes cold. The chicken had obviously been cooked many hours previously. Not only was it cold but it was impossible to cut! The only succesful method was to tear apart the chicken along the grain of the meat. We were too tired to complain. After struggling thru half the course we gave up , paid up and headed to the closest icecream parlour for a decent dessert!

“Buzzing atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2012

Lovely friendly atmosphere and lots of locals eating here, always a good sign! Food was very good and good value. Tables close together so don't go there for an intimate meal for two. Staff friendly but very busy so service a little slow and erratic. Accept it - you are on holiday! - and enjoy taking your time.

“Blast from the Past Restaurant!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2012

We found this Restaurant while traveling in Northern NH. We enjoyed everything, staff was pleasant/friendly, food was delicious (Pot Roast), price was great, nice atmosphere. We will be sure to return when in that area again.

“Absolutey the best.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

We were in Amiens for the Braderie, and therefore the town was very busy.

On the recommendation of the receptionist in the hotel, only a few yards away by the station, we made a reservation.

This was a good move as the place was full and a queue formed just after aour arrival.

The decor is 'old French bistro', the clientel, locals and a few other Brits from the Braderie. A suckling pig rotates on a spit outside.

The food was exemplary ... the very best of provincial French cooking. The prix fix menu(s) were the best value, but all the food was extremely good value.

Service appears disorganised with an upstairs kitchen, but despite being completely full, the wait between the four courses was barely noticed.

If you don't like or appreciate what appears to be a dying dining experience in France, don't go. If you do go you will be rewarded.
