“Pleasant dining with a great view”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2011 via mobile

Removed from the crowds (and bad restaurants) near the casino, Le Biquet's merits its high TripAdvisor rating. The Grand Large menu was reasonably priced at €24,50 as was the daily Formule at €15,50. The seafood platter was fresh and delicious, the bar and perche were yummy. The children's menus were of perfect size for kid appetites. The view of the beach is unbeatable as well. The service is decent as is the wine list - their Pouilly Fumé was really tasty and went well with the seafood. Another great thing (and exception for France!): highchairs and changing tables in the basement! Desserts very nice as well: tarte tatin, riz au lait, mousse au chocolat, crepes...definitely worth a stop when you are in Cabourg!

Nothing to say, just go there.
Friendly service and good quality food.

Don't forget to eat outside when it is sunny.

“Awesome resturant, above expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2011

This resturant we actually found through tripadvisor. And an oppertunity presented it self for a two course meal after a midday strawl on the beach with the kids. (and yes, one of the of cause tripped and got soaked) one the the freak laws of the universe ;)

Anyway i was longing for something local and french, most of the stuff in inner cabourg is mediocre at best, and is living on a factory serving of the many tourists.

I had a veal steak with cammamber sauce and frenchfries, my partner a fish trey with all sorts of beatiful additions, on of the kids(four year old) went for the moule fritte curry creme. In the wind shaded outside terrase, we shared a bottle of rose champagne to relatively light dinner

Lets start with the fries.. these tasted and looked homemade. That was a pleasant surprise. And not overdone in the "golden pit of friture".

My partner had was very excited by the well prepared, good looking and awesomely tasting fish trey.

On my part the veal was excellenty prepared, done but still juicy. And the sauce.... my mouth still fills with warther just thinking about it.. I have to go back home an learn how to do that one.

Most exited was my daughter regarding the moules(mussels), and even my partner who has had some early life mussels trauma, tasted it and was astonished. She will be back for a whole portion the next time.

For dessert we had some of the local crepes, and could also utilise the kitchens flexibility to create a danish variant. Crepes with ice cream. Ice and Crepe its just awesome, the french has develped a thing for crepes and nutella.. i really dont get it.. but its from nice, to paris, to normandie. and you can even buy nutella in 5kg jars !!.. so when in rome.. ;) Although i did go with a crepe calvados(flambé). Everything was great, and the flambe didn't have a touch of spirits left. Well done.

On the service part. everything was excellent executed. Wellcome, Sitdown, change of service to courses, cleanup, etc..

So basically this is what i think one should expect from every resturant, that takes anything serious. But sadly this is far from common. So thats basiccaly my three stars. In this place the food, the taste and the utilization of fresh components bumps it up.

If i take out the bottle of champagne. we hit the usual family dinner price around 70-90 euros.
