Just returned from 4 nights at Diamant with my parents & their grandchildren. Rooms small but very clean. Rooms overlooking the square have a great view & efficient double glazing meant no noise problems. Great breakfasts, no evening meal, but the selection of restaurants on the doorstep is extensive. Parking is the only problem, but M. Caillet is helpful on this and all other matters.

I phoned twice and emailed to confirm my reservation as we were arriving late (11.30pm) over the Easter weekend. When we arrived, i was told by the uninterested owner that he had given our room away that afternoon. When questioned he was adamant that it was not his problem and although he did phone another hotel where we were lucky to find a room, i felt that it was a pretty poor experience overall

I stayed at Hotel Diamant in April for the Vimy Memorial ceremonies taking place and this was a great choice! The hotel is perfectly located in the 'place des Heros', a beautiful square in the center of Arras. The owner, Philippe is very friendly and went out of his way on many occasions to assist me - from calling a taxi, to storing some cheese in their fridge. The room was small, to be expected, but very clean and the bed was comfortable. Overall this is an excellent budget hotel, and the breakfast in the morning is worth it (8 euros). They also have free internet, and everything is close by. In the spring and summer, there is a very nice (and big) market, literally right outside the doorstep every Saturday.

Based our choice on Tripadvisor reviews and were not disappointed- would like to thank everyone who has reviewed this hotel. It is indeed a gem. We had a small room facing the square but very quiet, and great views of town hall and of market on Saturday morning. Room spotless, comfortable, breakfast excellent, proprietor friendly and helpful. A really good old-fashioned French hotel.
