I'd heard about this place from a colleague and really wanted to see it while we were in Arras. We had a rental car but didn't want to deal with parking again, so we walked from the Hotel Mercure--it's about 15 minutes from there (get a local map from the front desk). It's a worthwhile visit. There's a small display of clothes and gear from servicemen from various countries. To go down into the quarry, there is a guided tour. Overall it was good. One wears headphones providing information in whatever language you prefer (English, French, German . . . ). There also are visual displays set in the various quarry rooms. And the guide provides information. Our guide was nice and provided information first in French then English. She went very quickly, and it seemed that everything she said was memorized, so this part seemed mechanical to me. But she did take the time to answer questions. I guess that there is only a certain amount of time for the tour so spontaneity or a more natural presentation of information might result in taking too much time.
