The food was excellent. Real French 'haut cuisine' without the current fashion for food as an art form on the plate. Freshly cooked, nice appearance, full of flavour and substantial portions. €15 for 3 courses, wine €8 per 1/2 litre.
Coquilles and Bouchee de foie de volaille as a starter, beautiful flavour, portions perhaps a little too big. Main course - Coq au vin cooked in local white wine, a new experience for me. Cordon bleu turkey fillet for Madame. Dessert was fresh bilberry tart. All in all the best meal we have had in a long time.
Toilet took 15 minutes to refill the cistern. Wash basin was cracked.
Shower had broken tiles, and virtually no water. The TV was not working. The bed had a rubber cover and a winter weight duvet. The lights were hanging on cables, and the doors did not fit their frames.
The bed linen was nice and clean, but the rest of the room poorly cleaned.
