“Expensive - arrive early to make the most of it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

Having heard some bad stories about queues on the roads to get in to Cap d'Agde, we arrived in plenty of time (no traffic). So, we had time to work out the parking (using the adjacent large car park - for which you can get a reduced rate if you get your ticket stamped in Aqualand). We were well placed in the queue and got in just after the gates opened. We set up our base on a couple of sun loungers which you have to pay for when the attendant visits, but they were right next to the kids area, so it allowed the adults to have a rest. As you would expect the food inside the site was over-priced, but, the gift shop appeared to be fair. The rides themselves were great - getting a few in early was perfect when the queues were short. The park never seemed to get too full, and we left in mid afternoon having had a great day. Favourite ride - Boomerang - for seeing sheer fear on the face of my daughter!

“Queues, queues, queues.....”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

We visited Aqualand yesterday. To be fair the rides themselves are very good. But our enduring memory will be of the queues. My six year old son and I queued for 1hr 45min for one ride that lasted less than a minute! Even to get in to the park and get a locker involves no less than FOUR different queues! We have been to parks in the US and UK and have ever seen anything quite as bad as this!!

“August 2013 Review = The good, the bad and le ugly”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

Arrived just after 9.30am and parked in the car park opposite. Agree with other posts re the poor signposting of the site but the joy of sat nav took us to the door. The queues were already forming at the entrance and there was a snake like queue doubling back on itself to the gates in readiness for the 10am opening. At about five past ten the gates opened and the queue turned itself around and consequently the people at the back were now at the front and there was then a twenty minute shuffle with elbows and people pushing past which was frankly irritating.

I have to say this was poor organisation and one thing we Brits are good at is forming an orderly queue. Once inside the gates go to the reception and pay 4 Euro for a ticket to get a key for the locker. Go and join another queue to hand over ticket and another 2 Euro deposit to receive key.

Take my advise and go straight to Boomerang and Tornado as the queues in the afternoon were very long. It is slightly a bizarre set up as you have to queue firstly to get a boat and then queue with the boat up to the ride. The layout isn't very clear and you have to follow what the locals are doing. All the rides are great fun but I came a cropper on the Surf Racer ride. The mat snaps upwards as you hit the water at the bottom and cut my nose and gave me a nose bleed. I also suffered grazed shins as I came off the mat not quite sure how. The lifeguard on duty had very little in the way of first aid and you are really left to your own devices to sort yourself out. I saw other people suffering similar injuries. There was little in instruction on this ride and you would have thought that nose bleeds and cuts to faces would have prompted the parks owners to be more diligent in advising riders how to use this ride.

No shade for people queuing for the rides. At one point my wife and the other people in the queue were hosed down to try and cool them off. I would have thought that there should be a provision for some shade as people were wilting standing in direct sunshine for an hour and a half.

The food was ok at the cafe - next year we will take a picnic and get two lockers. You need to validate your car park ticket at the reception before you leave at the exit as this discounts the parking to 7 Euros.

I didn't think the park was particularly dirty but as other people have stated this isn't a Disney theme park but it is great fun apart from the queuing, bear in mind we went on a Tuesday in August.

With a bit of organisation it could be a great water park. The signs in English are in some cases comedy Google translate at best. The park needs to sort out the entrance experience as shuffling elbow to elbow doesn't start the day off well. The three staff working the crowd at the entrance should have been more proficient and got through the crowd a lot quicker, after all we all had pre-purchased tickets in this queue.

“Beware of the Black Hole ride and the parking”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

What started off as a good day finished in disaster. However things went off to a bad start as our car, a Landcruiser with a top box was too tall for any of the carparks, so we had no choice but to park down a side road - this wasn't mentioned on any flyers and there was no parking information in their car parks about where over height vehicles could park. The day was overcast so it wasn't too busy to get in. A little expensive but in a tourist trap that was to be expected. The rides were good, the queues not too bad. Stopped for lunch in the self service canteen, the cooked food didn't look very nice, although my husband said the poulet frites was fine, but I had a nice selection of meats and cheese which I enjoyed. Ice Creams were a bit expensive, but again, it's a captive audience. We enjoyed the rides but due to the queues on the black hole left this to last. This is a dinghy ride. I went down with my daughter,it was ok, a bit hot in the flumes but fine, we then waited by the pool for my husband and son to come down. After a bit of a delay my husband shoots out minus the dinghy and my son. We rushed forward and then my son fell out crying (he's only 10) holding his head and his mouth bleeding. The life guard is just sitting there vacant and only gets up when I and some others in the queue shout to him. My son was ever so distressed, the dinghy had overturned at the start of the ride and he'd been caught up underneath it and my husband. The lack of interest by the 'life guard' was amazing and judging by other comments on here this does happen sometimes on the black hole. So, watch out if you are going on this with younger children and heaven forbid what would happen if there was a real emergency because the life guards don't seem at all interested. I wouldn't return.

“Great fun, but pricey and with long waits for the best rides”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 8, 2013

As commented by others, this is an expensive day out at over 110 Euros for a family of five and the food is extortionate and pretty bland, but having said all that, my kids enjoyed it enormously. There's a good range of rides from the tiny to the huge, and the new Boomerang is terrific. However an hour spent queuing isn't so wonderful. The height restrictions are rigorously enforced so I'd avoid taking adventurous girls who fall a cm or so below the 140cm minimum height for the bigger rides to avoid disappointment!
