This was our second visit to the Auberge du Roua and I was very happy to be able to take my parents along this time.
We had a wedding in Canet en Roussillon so I decided to take a couple of extra days off to stay there beforehand.
The hotel is lovely, rooms are large, clean and very nicely decorated. Continental breakfast is very good and the staff are extremely nice.
The best bit is definitely dinner. The chef is just sooooo good. Not a cheap restaurant but well worth it.
During our stay there were 3 couples with dogs as well, which is nice to see that they are happy to cater for that market and not turn their nose up.
Well, if you ever end up in the area, I would strongly recommend the Auberge.

After a hectic two weeks in Andalucia and Barcelona we were hoping for a spot of refreshement. Our standards are high as we work in the hospitality business and we were not disappointed.

The greeting was cordial and fully informative, the room clean, neat and quiet, and the place a realxing oasis just outside the town village center. The pool area with surrounding vineyards and mountains invites you to relax, refresh and renew.

We had a few immediate unsual requests - like a second reading light for the bed - and questions about local choices. All were responded to quickly and graciously.

In the off season (before July 15 or after August) this village is wonderful and not crowded. The beach fantastic. And this is the perfect place ot stay.

“Calm and welcoming”

We stayed there summer before last and my family loved the hotel. Breakfasts were adequate, but the setting, around the pool, made them special. Service excellent. We had two meals in the restaurant specially made for us as we wanted vegetarian food. Amazing. We all still rave about the mushroom soup and the desserts!
Staff and owners of the hotel were friendly and helpful. Would recommend it highly.

With a cheap Stansted flight to Perpignan, a hire car, and a little hotel in the foothills of the Pyrenees near Argeles on the Med coast booked via the internet, hubby, myself and our 8 year old son were not sure what to really expect...we weren't disappointed...ok so we got a little lost en route from the airport - albeit via the scenic coastal route - but this pretty 17th century Catalan mansion now converted into a peaceful 17 roomed hotel took our breath away! The garden, with its warm clean inviting swimming pool and suitably trendy parasols and sunbeds, was an instant magnet for my son, who was out of his sweaty travelling clothes and into his swim shorts before we could say 'une biere froid s'il vous plait'..(well they speak good english there - probably just as well...). Our room was cool and comfortable with a huge marble tiled bathroom...perfect! The terrace around the pool is transformed into a contemporary diners paradise in the evening - with exquisite food and views of the Pyrenees nearby to match..breakfast is also taken by the pool. My only slight gripe was the lack of choice for my son at dinner - but Magalie the owner always found something he would eat...whether fresh melon and local ham to start, and some tender steak avec frites - topped with rich chocolate ice cream, he was soon tucking in.
The port at Argeles sur Mer and also the beautiful Catalan town of Collioure a few miles along the coast have a variation of other cheaper and more expensive options with delicious mussels and the local speciality of anchovies or even tapas available.
The hotel is only 15 mins drive from the fabulous huge clean beaches, but my son's best day was the one spent at the Aquapark in St Cyprien - great fun!! A lovely holiday..

A converted Mill,it exudes class from the moment you step in the door. We booked a suite and it was beautiful, new, well appointed with unusual top class fittings. Bathroom excellent, although no curtains! We were not overlooked at the back of the Mill and had alovely view of the mountains.
Pool area was excellent and the pool was fitted with one of the new pool alarms that is so safe for kids.
Probably the only downside was the poor breakfast, with bottled orange juice. Our other two days we breakfasted in town(better food for less money!) We can thoroughly recemmond this lovely and quiet place.
