Our apartment facing the mountains had a great view especially with Chateau Valmy in the background. The location was fabulous with loads of places to eat and lots going on including colourful markets and fireworks in the evening.
The apartment was bright and cheerful and whilst not luxurious was adequate. The large balcony and huge windows were great.
The swimming pool was lovely. The staff were helpful and polite. Have stayed there three times and hope to go again.

1. Extremely loud for family with kids...baby could not sleep for couple of nights due to disco and firework near by
2. Pool is small and crowded
3. In 21st century you have access to wifi only in lobby. Connectivity slow
4. Kids playground is closed at 9pm
5. Parking is FULL
If you still decide to go Few tips for free:
1. Bring all u can with u... Food, water, towels, beach umbrella etc
2. Try to book rooms on 5-6 floor
3. Use the beach on the right side of hotel.. A bit far but a bit better
4. Rent a car to buy food

Summary, price we paid does not justify the name of the place "residence"...more of a hostel

Our 1bdrm.apartment was on the 4th fl. with a balcony and a georgeous view of Lower Pyrenean Mountains. If you can ask for Rm.420, you will not be disapointed. The residence is located in the small Port area full of shops & restaurants, but if you like to make your own breakfast or lunch, the kitchen is adequate to prepare all meals. We stayed (1week or 2) in many Pierre & Vacances properties and always found them to be just right. Also, the cable TV has 4 English language channels, so if you don't speak French, it's a Plus. This is not a Hotel, so you have to clean your apartment or pay for it. Also, there is a charge for towels, but that's a small thing.

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views, ask for Rm.420

This Hotel was more like a dog kennel than a hotel. Full of people with smelly little dogs that they took into the hotel gardens every morning for a pooh! even nearly stepped in a pile in the reception one morning!
When we checked into our room it was obvious from the smell that a dog had been sleeping on our bed. We asked for another room but they said they were full. We asked for a cleaner but none arrived, so we had to clean the room ourselves.
Worth checking if your Hotel allows pets before booking....

Room Tip: Don't stay here unless you like sharing with animals

We are quite surprised and sad to read your comment written a little bit less than 1 year after your stay.
Things have changed since your last stay. We are aware that cohabitation with pets could have been difficult and that's the reason why we have improve the following things :
- We added more information signs prohibiting pets access on either grass, playground and swimming-pool area.
- We also diffused a remaining of the good behavior and specific rules for pet owners on our internal TV channel.
- And we installed dog walk bags dispensers close to each exit of our residence.
Each year we try to improve our residence and we always will.

great appartments , it is well located . the view over port Argeles is really pleasant and all the facilities - shops , restaurants are nearby .
the staff is very friendly , I've been there 3 times and I've never been disappointed.

Room Tip: it is much better to choose a flat with a port view , it is better than the mountain view and it is...

Enjoyed a six night stay during May 2008.
We have previously stayed in a Maeva Residence at Biarritz/Anglet and have found them to provide good value and clean well maintained accommodation
Our apartment at Port Argeles was extremely comfortable for us as a couple having a separate fairly small bedroom but with plenty of built in closet space and a large living space and kitchen area. A settee/bed was available in the living space and the apartment would adequately serve a family. There was a large balcony with superb views across the marina. Views on the other side of the building face the Pyrenean foothills as they approach the coast.
Both english and non-english speaking staff were efficient and friendly.
Restaurants and shops border the marina and whilst very quiet during our visit I would expect the area to be very busy during high season.
If returning to the Perpignan area again we would look to book this accommodation.

  • Liked — Location, cleanliness, space and fiendly efficient staff

Had great time with the kids. The staff are very helpful and the area is great for exploring the pyrenees. The local mini-markets/take-aways are good value. The apartments are basic but very good value.
